As Democrats continue to lose their minds over the “Maryland father” and wifebeater, Kilmar Abrego Garcia, with shrieking claims that he is/was not a MS-13 gangbanger, President Trump releases a close-up photo of tattoos that belie that claim.
Social media has been flooded with theories that alleged gangbanger Kilmar Abrego Garcia is covered in MS-13 tattoos — but the reality might not be what it seems.
Speculation regarding his supposed gang-related ink went into overdrive after photos emerged online of Abrego Garcia — who was shipped off to El Salvador’s notorious megaprison with other reputed gang members last month — sitting down with Democratic Sen. Chris Van Hollen in El Salvador on Thursday.
Online sleuths quickly zeroed in on several tattoos visible on the 29-year-old’s fingers, alleging the images proved the Trump administration’s claims that Abrego Garcia was once an active MS-13 member.
Let’s see how these hand tats look a little closer:
Dismiss the current faux freakout over “doctored photo” claims. It is obvious that the “M S 1 3” was added as a label over the tats on Garcia’s fingers.
Shortly after the president’s post, lefty-friendly media published a story falsely claiming that the image is “seemingly doctored.” The writer plays word games, writing that “[t]he characters ‘MS-13’ are nowhere to be found” in Abrego Garcia’s tattoos. No one is saying that the exact letters are tattooed, of course, but twisting the truth is their calling card.
Luckily, Andy Ngo has the receipts ready to counter the attacks, calling the symbols in the Truth Social photo “consistent with MS-13 membership tattoos” and sharing a zoomed-in image of it:
Update: President Trump has released the photo documentation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia's left hand tattoos. The symbols are consistent with MS-13 membership tattoos. It is the latest addition to the list of evidence that Mr Abrego Garcia has close associations with the… pic.twitter.com/NiTqqOHljz

Tattoos that are so obviously innocent to explain yet the wife felt it necessary to edit them out of the picture.
I get it, old foggy that I am, that tattoos are, in general, fairly widespread and acceptable body art in contemporary society starting sometime in the late 80s/early 90s. From small, discretely placed tats to brightly colored full sleeves, inking went mainstream. But the use of tattoos as less-than-savory symbols of criminal organizations, inside or outside of prisons, never went away.
In my 18 years working in a DA office in SoCal, including running rapsheets (CLETs) and gang reports (CalGangs), made me quite aware of the difference between a tattoo of praying hands on a shoulder blade and one of “AB” running up a neck from collarbone to chin. It should be noted here, too, that legitimate, professional tattoo artists are reluctant, indeed many refuse outright, to do neck, face, and hand tattoos. Such tattoos are deemed “job killers” at best. At worst, these artists are well aware of the gang associations that come with such tattoos. From the looks of it, Garcia did NOT get those hand tats in any legit parlor. They’re on the order of prison tats.
Gangbanger symbols run from wearing colors to types of clothing to even jewelry … I recall a time in the 1990s when many school systems banned the wearing of the Rosary as a necklace because it had been adopted by local gangs. Tattoos are just more permanent symbols of association and a way to intimidate rival gangbangers. Though, go a little too far in documenting your activities via ink and you’re a walking confession.
So while there’s a few more Democrats looking to follow Chris Van Hollen’s lead on a taxpayer-funded junket to sip Margaritas with a citizen of El Salvador, pretending he’s just a regular guy … these follow travelers are who the Democrats want desperately to keep in the US.

Can we now stop calling him an “alleged” MS-13 gang member? Twice courts have found that he is one.
The immigration courts were created by Congress to adjudicate such matters. The U.S. District Courts were also created by Congress (if Civics was still taught people would know that both the U.S. District Courts and the Immigration Courts were created by Congress, and not created in the Constitution).
The findings that he is a MS-13 gang member were not appealed and are final. There is nothing “alleged” – that fact was proven.
I will say that the M S 1 3 tats are suspiciously sharp and graphically correct when compared to the other tats visible on his hand, but that means nothing in these days of PhotoShop; I would want to see a higher-resolution picture of his hand. I’m not disputing his association membership, as that has been established in court, but that picture is not terribly convincing.
I believe the MS13 was superimposed as an explanation of what each of the pictograph tattoos represents. Unlike the claims of the idiots on the left, President Trump was NOT saying he had the numbers / letters on his hand.
Fair enough.
