Paul Pelosi attacker, David DePape, was charged yesterday. The narrative, as laid out by the San Francisco District Attorney makes more sense. The Legacy Media and the entire Democrat Party, up and down, were too busy painting DePape as a Right-Wing extremist or manipulated by the Right-Wing to worry about the victim and what he went through.
It’s hard to imagine the terrifying time that Mr. Pelosi spent with his attacker. I am not a fan of the entire family; I think they are all cunning and weaselly. Think about this: You are sound asleep in your own bed in your own home in the middle of the night and you are attacked by someone you don’t know. Stay with me here. That comes from statements made by DePape. From the New York Post:
“…DePape targeted the Pelosi home and confronted Paul Pelosi who was asleep in his bed.
The intruder woke up the 82-year-old Paul Pelosi and asked where his wife was.
Paul Pelosi attempted to get into an elevator inside the home that has a phone, but DePape blocked him, Jenkins said. It was only after Pelosi asked to go to the bathroom that he was able to call 911, Jenkins said.
When DePape realized he made a call, he took Pelosi downstairs near the front door. Officers arrived two minutes after the call came in, Jenkins said.
At that point, DePape “violently struck (Pelosi) in the top of his head” after a brief struggle for control of the weapon, Jenkins said. It’s unclear which man opened the door for authorities or how many times Paul Pelosi was struck, she said.
Sounds like Paul Pelosi had time to talk to the alleged perpetrator. That’s how Mr. Pelosi knew the perps name. He stayed calm. He didn’t know the guy, but then said he was a friend named David DePape to let the police know who they were dealing with.
Again from the New York Post:
David DePape, 42, was also charged with assault with a deadly weapon, elder abuse, false imprisonment of an elder, residential burglary and threats to a public official and their family, according to District Attorney Brooke Jenkins.
“It appears as though this was based on his statements and comments that were made in that house during his encounter with Mr. Pelosi that this was politically motivated,” Jenkins said at a press conference.
You can read the Department of Justice Public Relations release here. About that French door, with the broken glass inside and outside of the house. There was film on the glass and that changes how the glass breaks and falls, as I know from personal experience.
Liz Wheeler did a great wrap-up on the history of David DePape:
Homeless, nudist-activist, drug-user who is staying in a house with an LGBTQ/BLM/Marijuana flag. Here is more from his ex-girlfriend from The Tampa Free Press:
His former girlfriend Oxane “Gypsy” Taub, who was convicted of child abduction and was a well-known public nudity activist, told The San Francisco Chronicle that DePape had used drugs, lived on Bay Area streets after they permanently broke up and thought “he was Jesus for a year.”
“He has never been able to hold a job,” Taub told the outlet. “He has been homeless. This person really does suffer from mental illness and that is probably why he was there at 2 a.m.”
The fact that so many on the Left decided before they knew anything that the guy was sent from the Right is disgusting. Rep. Jake Auchincloss went right there last week, before anything was known, and warned Republicans about inciting violence. Michael Tomasky wrote in The New Republic:
Representative Tom Emmer of Minnesota, has gone McCarthy one better. Last week, with political emotions at a fever pitch, he posted to Twitter a video of himself firing a weapon at a range, under which he wrote: “Enjoyed exercising my Second Amendment rights with @KellyCooperAZ & General @JackBergman_MI1. 13 days to make history. Let’s #FirePelosi.” Two days later, David DePape broke into Nancy Pelosi’s house, and you know what happened next.
On Face the Nation Sunday, host Margaret Brennan destroyed Emmer. “A tweet. Hashtag Fire Pelosi with a weapon. Wouldn’t a pink slip be more fitting if it’s about firing her? Why a gun?” she asked him. He hemmed and hawed, Second Amendment this, Steve Scalise that. Yes, his GOP colleague Steve Scalise was almost killed by a deranged person who was a Bernie Sanders supporter. But … remind me of that time when Sanders joked about shooting GOP House members. Oh, right. Didn’t happen.
How’s about politicians are not responsible for what mentally ill/psychotic people do? Period. Paragraph. Don’t make excuses for exercising your Second Amendment and wanting to fire Nancy Pelosi. That is in no way inciting political violence, unless you are psychotic.
Instead of demonizing Republicans, which is so on brand, the Legacy Media and Democrats should be praying for Paul Pelosi. He was bashed in the head with a hammer. He is 82 years old. Anesthesia and the elderly are not a good mix. I wish Paul Pelosi a full recovery and Nancy a happy, long retirement with her husband.

I don’t understand why there was no security system in that house. How do you not know there are all kinds of crazy people roaming your city and not have security? I, too, wish him a full recover and the retirement of his wife. Life is risky, go spend time with your grandchildren.
“He has never been able to hold a job. He has been homeless. This person really does suffer from mental illness and that is probably why he was there at 2 a.m.”
Used to be that we locked people like that away for their own good. So glad we’ve progressed since those dark times. Really.
Might there be a connection between the car crash and the house break-in?
