Leave it to the pretentious lefties in Brooklyn to plaster “thought provoking” Pride artwork along the fences of their playgrounds.

All in the name of “awareness” and “education”. Kids and what they ingest into their tiny, moldable minds are not important here. Indoctrination and making sure those with an alternative lifestyle are “seen” is the only thing that is important. Especially in the month of June. In the great state I live in, I have seen feeds of local school districts “celebrating” Pride month. They are committed to making LGBTQ+ members of the community feel acknowledged. Anyone who opposes the rainbow vomit is obviously an uneducated bigot, racist, fascist (insert other derogatory name here). After all, Educators and their Administrators (who, yay-have been to college and post-grad school) approve of this messaging. The rest of you numb-nuts who disagree with it are just, plain sToOpId.

Ergo, naysayers, shut the hell up. As we pull in, No Sleep Til Park Slope Brooklyn, we stumble upon the JJ Byrne Playground, where the “Rooted In Pride” art exhibit is on full display. From the site:

In honor of Pride month, Arts Gowanus once again partnered with Brooklyn Pride and The Old Stone House & Washington Park to present an outdoor art exhibition called Rooted in Pride.

The exhibit featured artwork – selected from an open call – by emerging and established Brooklyn-based LGBTQIA+ artists working in various styles and media. The works depicted and celebrated what “pride” means to the artist and/or Brooklyn’s LGBTQIA+ community.

All works were printed on 36”x 36” vinyl banners and include a brief description of the piece. The banners are displayed on the fence surrounding The Old Stone House & Washington Park and J.J. Byrne Playground in Park Slope from June 1 – August 1, 2025.”–artsgowanus.org

In honor of Pride month. Exhibit is viewable until August 1, 2025. Is July now Pride month, too? Just in time for the kidlets and their summer vacation! The absolute joy!

Sure, some of the artwork is harmless by sight. But, what do we make of a portrait of a naked man by Lukasz Leja called “Paint Me Like One Of Your Polish Girls“? The real title of the painting is “Paint Me Like One Of Your Polish Hoes” and is probably the least offensive of the rest of the work by this artist. Suffice to say, the artist is obsessed with male-on-male sexual positions and genetalia with a little bit of BDSM. Don’t worry, parents, Arts Gowanus made the title of the portrait “kid friendly” ahead of the pride parade. Pick a Pride parade. Any pride parade…

There is also artwork on display called “Trauma starts with EXPECTATIONS!”, which takes on gender reveal parties. From the description:

This piece is about mental illness and disability. Gender (genital) reveals are transphobic, homophobic and racist (from past colonialism history of the sex binary). These reveal ‘parties’ aren’t celebrations, but the start of toxic expectations. These reveals start wildfires, kill people and have hurt people both physically and mentally. Babies and parents face trauma when labeling their child.”-Leah Waring Byck

Leah, (who uses they/them pronouns), is an Artist. Performer. Musician. Educator. And a Human, in case you all were wondering. Yet, Leah describes those who want to know the gender of their babies as “less than human” in her “artwork”. In fact, expectant parents who want to know the gender of their child in the womb is just the “start of toxic expectations” and perpetuating the “transphobic, homophobic and raaaaacist narrative of past colonialism”. Dear God. She is right about one thing. Her piece is about mental illness. HER mental illness. And, I give her credit for not advocating for killing off the “genderless” baby.

Arts Gowanus also spotlighted the jurors who chose the artwork for the exhibit. One juror is named Gayah Imani Gillson, who is described as “a BIPOC, QTPOC, TwoSpirit Brooklyn-based/ International Artist, Healer, Visionary Activist, and Spiritual Worker.”

The utter self-importance of these artsy-fartsies is nauseating, to say the least. We have grown adults who made a lifestyle choice, pushing their choice on a kids’ playground. It’s one thing to be in the closet but this is the pendulum swing to the very opposite of being in the closet. There is no in-between with these people. It is okay to teach your children to love and accept others regardless of their political leanings or lifestyle choices. But what happens when this “acceptance” is normalized to the point of explicit artwork and confusing messages on display in a park full of children? Outright perversion.

The liberals in Park Slope can be as “Rooted In Pride” as they wanna be. When all comes crashing down, they can consult their Two-Spritied, BIPOC, QTPOC, Healer, Artist, Educator, Human Visionaries on the end times and meditate, manifest whatever sh#t they pull out of their asses. In the meantime, it’s just another day for us all in this devil’s playground.
