It was a “moment of togetherness” between a husband and wife. There was no face slap, shove or push. If you saw a slap, that’s on you. French President Emmanuel Macron and his Brigitte just had some “playful teasing” before disembarking in Vietnam. Sort of like Joe Biden was mentally fit to be President of the United States, right?

The press office of the French President initially denied that the video was authentic. Those days are over, mes chers. We the great unwashed no longer believe lies because elites and/or authority figures say they are so. Well, most of us. There are still Liberals who believe what they are told to believe by the Party. It was a moment of togetherness between a couple embarking on a grueling trip. You be the judge:

I have watched that short clip way too many times to believe that was a “moment of togetherness”. It was not a slap as originally reported. Brigitte uses both hands to shove Macron’s face. He is initially stunned, sees the open door, gives a half wave and half smile and turns back to Brigitte.

French President Emmanuel Macron’s office downplays an incident in which his wife appeared to push his face away as he arrived in Vietnam to begin a Southeast Asian tour.

Footage shot by the Associated Press news agency in Hanoi shows Macron’s plane door opening to reveal him.

His wife Brigitte’s arms emerge from the left of the open doorway, and she places both hands on her husband’s face and gives it a shove.

The president appears startled but quickly recovers and turns to wave through the open door. She remains concealed by the aircraft body, making it impossible to see her facial expression or body language.

The couple proceed down the staircase for the official welcome by Vietnamese officials, though Brigitte Macron does not take her husband’s offered arm.

Interesting that Emannuel Macron had his hand in a fist going down the stairs.

This couple has been together for a long, long time. The 47-year old Emannuel Macron met Brigitte when he was 15 and she was a 39-year old married, mother of three, teacher. Creeptacular that may be, if there are problems in the marriage, they are well-hidden by the French press. So far.

That was French President Emmanuel Macron ‘s explanation Monday for video images that showed his wife, Brigitte , pushing her husband away with both hands on his face before they disembarked from their plane to start a tour of Southeast Asia this weekend.

The moment quickly made headlines in France, with media trying to decipher the interaction that cameras spotted through the just-opened door of the plane. The headline of a story on the website of the daily Le Parisien newspaper asked: “Slap or ‘squabble’? The images of Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron disembarking in Vietnam trigger a lot of comment.”

Macron later told reporters that the couple — married since 2007 after meeting at the high school where he was a student and she was a teacher — were simply joking around.

“We are squabbling and, rather, joking with my wife,” he said, adding that the incident was being overblown into “a sort of geo-planetary catastrophe.”

“Geo-planetary catastrophe” or “moment of togetherness”. Imagine for half a tick that Melania Trump had shoved Trump’s face with both hands. Yeah, that would have been interplanetary. Bon chance in Vietnam, President et Madame Macron.
