Mike Johnson hadn’t finished his acceptance speech for Speaker of the House before Democrats started bleating on Social Media that Johnson is a far-Right MAGA supporter and we are all doomed. There is no better description than BLEATING:
(of a sheep, goat, or calf) make a characteristic wavering cry:
baa
cry
call
maa
speak or complain in a weak, querulous, or foolish way
The Dems didn’t have Mike Johnson (R-LA) on their Speaker of the House Bingo Cards, so there was no opposition research on Johnson. He was such a surprise that the Republicans didn’t have time to fly in Johnson’s wife. The Democrats though didn’t rest before they started clapping at Johnson.
Naturally, Little Adam Schiff was one of the first up from yesterday:
You might be Googling who Mike Johnson is this morning.
Let me make it simple:
Johnson is a hard-right, pro-Trump, leading election denier in the House.
Sadly, this is what passes for Speaker material in the Republican conference.

Poor little Shifty Schiff. He lied about Trump’s Russia collusion. He lied about Trump’s Ukraine call. He lied his way through the J6 hearing. He’s lied so much no one takes him seriously and now he’s bleating about Mike Johnson passing for Speaker material.
Speaking of the reprehensible J6 committee, Huffington Post has Representative Jamie Raskin’s take:
Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) has warned people not to be fooled by House Speaker Mike Johnson’s mild-mannered presentation.
“You cannot get to the right of Mike Johnson in the MAGA caucus,” Raskin told MSNBC’s Chris Hayes on Wednesday after the Louisiana Republican won the gavel.
“There are people who are definitely more lunatic than he is, and he’s got very good manners, and he’s an able lawyer,” Raskin continued.
That last part is a knee slapper. His Momma is proud that you appreciate his manners. But as to the rest, Bless Your Pea Picking Heart, which is Southern for shove it up your bony-ass backside. But wait, there is more:
But, he noted, Johnson “opposed democracy” and used his skills to give “a legal gloss and finish to all of Donald Trump’s arguments about electoral fraud.”
“If he’s not for democracy, what’s he for? He’s for theocracy,” Raskin added, pointing to Johnson’s extreme positions on abortion, contraception, social security and other issues.
“He’s a nice guy, but nobody should be fooled by it,” he said.
Johnson, an evangelical Christian, was elected speaker with unanimous Republican support after weeks of party infighting and three failed nominees.
What I said above: Rinse and Repeat.
I hate when either side is rude and shouts out. But, let’s call out Nydia Velazquez (D-NY) for being ugly:
Democrats spent parts of Wednesday’s speaker vote previewing how they would attack Johnson’s conservative record — and poking at Republicans from Biden districts who might have to answer for it. In his speech nominating Hakeem Jeffries for speaker, House Democratic Caucus Chair Pete Auilar emphasized Johnson’s role crafting election objections, and said the GOP speaker race was an effort to “appease” Trump. When Rep. Mike Lawler, a moderate Republican from a New York swing-district, stood to vote for Johnson, Rep. Nydia Velázquez, D-N.Y. yelled, “Bye bye.” (She later described Johnson as “a disaster” to Semafor.)
What’s a disaster is that Democrats, apparently have no arguments and must resort to insults. Speaking of insults, let’s hear from Donald Trump’s niece:
Fucking Mike Johnson, election-denying MAGAT is now second in line to the presidency. The fascists are now in charge. pic.twitter.com/giwKRpTSEo

And, of course, we care so much what Ari Melber and Hakeem Jeffries think:
No one tried to overturn the election. One could say both Ari Melber and Hakeem Jeffries are low-life goats.
The more the Dems denigrate Mike Johnson the more I love him. We hope you love him too. He’s not Kevin McCarthy, Paul Ryan, or, icky, John Boehner and that is a refreshing change.

Hard to take seriously a party that tolerates Nazis in their midst.
Yes indeed. Expel Tlaib and the rest of the “squad immediately.
You need another comma between “MAGA” and “Bleat” – otherwise the headline makes no sense whatsoever.
Johnson is a hard-right, pro-Trump, leading election denier in the House.
YAY!
You cannot get to the right of Mike Johnson in the MAGA caucus
YAY!
There are people who are definitely more lunatic than he is, and he’s got very good manners, and he’s an able lawyer
Yay, except maybe the lawyer part. “Lawyer” is always a downmark to some extent.
Johnson “opposed democracy”
YAY! We’re a Republic, anyway. And Dem definitions of “democracy” always trigger my inner Inigo Montoya.
give “a legal gloss and finish to all of Donald Trump’s arguments about electoral fraud.”
Yay! Because there was plenty of election fraud. (I might think Trump handled it poorly or chose the wrong things to fight on, but there was election fraud, and plenty of it.)
“He’s a nice guy, but nobody should be fooled by it,”
But I thought your main concern was “no mean tweets”?
Johnson, an evangelical Christian, was elected speaker
So, HuffPo, you’re now implementing a religious test for office? Is that it? Well, then you ought to be censored for malinformation. Maybe the internet routers should block your IP for providing support to insurrection, since you’re advocating an anti-Constitution stance, huh?
is now second in line to the presidency
THIRD, honey. He’s third in line, after the President, himself, then the vice-President.
Either your civics suck, or your counting skills. (Or are you simply counting Kamala as a ZERO?)
And, see, Toni? We needed this fight. Only out of the chaos could this result come. We have some change, and it’s possible it might make more change. Now we have to make sure he does what’s needed (and fights the right fights).
The Democrats really have their panties in a wad about this guy. Well done, GOP!
Hard to make a better argument for Mike Johnson than condemnations from Democrats. Johnson is for Making America Great Again, and that is what Democrats think awful. How do these people get elected?
Anyway, I was quite relieved when the Democrats did not “praise” Johnson.
You really want to make fun of the Democrats? Try imagining what praise from the Democrats for Mike Johnson would have sounded like.
“Poor little Shitty Schiff’… FIFY, your finger obviously slipped while typing and hit the “F” instead of a second “T” in his name…
Mary Trump… Isn’t she a little peach… and as GWB pointed out, she’s either had a shit civics education, or can’t count… (sounds like an average democrat… like AOC with her economics degree)
