Marjorie Taylor Greene (MTG) is an embarrassment. The Georgia Republican Representative claims that she is a “change agent”. Well, I would like to change agents. Last week, MTG says that she threatened to vacate the Chair of Speaker Mike Johnson because she doesn’t like the border deal and Continuing Resolution he has negotiated. Gee, who does like them? The Democrats have the Presidency and the Senate and Republicans are dancing on the edge of a knife with a razor thin margin in the House. I don’t like MTG, but as our Kim wrote two years ago, we dismiss her at our peril. MTG can be very effective, but needs constant minding.
Yes, I get embarrassed by Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert. BUT, then I remember that the Dems have Eric Swalwell, Adam Schiff, Pramila Jayapal, Alexandria Ocasio and Jerry Nadler who wants more slaves to pick his vegetables faster. Democrats are still mad they had to give up their slaves and so they are trying to import a whole new class.
Where was I? Oh yes, both sides have their mental midgets and MTG is one of ours. According to The Hill, Marjorie Taylor Greene bragged about threatening Speaker Johnson:
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) said she spoke with Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) Friday, threatening him with a motion to vacate over the border deal he struck with Democrats.
“In my meeting with him yesterday and many other members of Congress, I let Speaker Johnson know that in no way shape and form will I support any type of [continuing resolution.],” Greene told former White House adviser Steve Bannon in an interview.
“I told him yesterday in his office that I would vacate the chair that that is absolutely unacceptable,” she added. “And we actually have the power of the first, we’re the ones that are in control and we need to control the negotiation. I reiterated those same points this morning so the ball is in his court.”
Lord have mercy, MTG is arrogant. Maybe that is why she was kicked out of the Freedom Caucus:
Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert can have a caucus all their own: The Divorced Flamethrowers Caucus. I could make a few comments about why these ladies are divorced, but I won’t. You are all free to think them, though. Between us, I think both women are a few bananas short in their pudding.
NOOOOOOOO!!!!!
This is NOT a border deal!
This is a border SURRENDER!!Any elected U.S. politician that supports this doesn’t represent Americans, they represent the rest of the world!

Fine, it’s a shite deal, but how does threatening Speaker Johnson help. You just play right into the hands of the circling sharks. Here’s another article in The Hill where Democrats offer to help Johnson at a steep price:
A handful of House Democrats say they’d step in to help Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) keep his gavel in the face of a potential conservative revolt — but it wouldn’t come free.
Democrats willing to consider the matter said Johnson would first have to forge an agreement with House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) ensuring Democrats had a greater voice in the legislative process. In that case, they’d be willing to provide the votes to keep the Speaker in power.
“Just like I told McCarthy: Talk to Hakeem, and there are some of us that can support you,” said Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Texas), referring to former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), who was booted from his leadership post last year at the hands of disgruntled conservatives.
“I’ll say the same thing [to Johnson].”
Cuellar is not alone among Democrats floating the idea of a Johnson rescue.
“He would have to be more willing than Kevin McCarthy was to sit down with Hakeem Jeffries and have a conversation about what it would take for us to be helpful. Kevin said to pound sand. He didn’t want the help,” said Rep. Dan Kildee (D-Mich.).
“We wouldn’t be offering it as an act of charity,” Kildee continued. “We would say, ‘Look, if you need Democrats to govern, then you’re going to have to take Democratic input.’”
Marjorie Taylor Greene should sit down, listen and learn something. I know that MTG has done some good things, and as Kim wrote two years ago, we dismiss her at our peril. But this is so painful.

You asked — How does threatening the Speaker help?
It reminds the Speaker and other useless Congress-Critters that we are fed up.
MTG is NOT an embarrassment. You’re wrong on that one.
Yes, let’s vacate the Speaker again and make Jeffries Speaker. That will fix ’em!!! You, like Greene, Bobert and Gaetz, are idiot comment on an obscure political site. You should be thankful that only a couple of people will see this.
I made one comment asking questions on this website, and someone rudely responded, arrogantly deciding I needed to be “schooled” on the subject (but not by this person).
Why can’t a person express an opinion without someone else responding by calling them derogatory names such as an idiot? And I wonder how the Victory Girls feel about being termed “an obscure political site.”
And here comes the concern troll, again.
I’m not wild about MTG either. She makes me want to cringe, however, that being said, maybe we need her? We don’t have to like her to watch her get stuff done, pointed out, referenced. She’s mixing it up and isn’t that what we want, enough sitting around playing nice already. We know that doesn’t work!
And that being said, why is Hillary still waving her arms around all over Victory Girls Blog. Damn, I’m so sick of that old bag! I can’t read anything here, or write anything either without having that woman in the corner of my screen! Just tell me there’s a good reason she’s there and I’ll not mention it again!
I think what Lewis is referring to is the “VG Vids!” block on the right sidebar, which has been broken for at least a year now, and yes, does show the old bag – in duplicate for me!
It would be nice to fix that.
As to Greene…
I’m hoping that MTG manages to make everyone aware of just how much the status quo ante is a problem. Because only if people change their voting habits can we actually vote our way out of this. She’s part of – hopefully – making that happen. She is trying to topple the embedded power structure – one that undermines liberty and prosperity – and we need to support that.
The real problem isn’t MTG, it’s that the embedded power structure requires this sort of ax-wielding to return the gov’t to its proper place.
