Lena Dunham and Gawker “outing” alleged “rapist”

Once again, Miss Dunham decided she wants the mantle of victimhood (why I cannot fathom other than to question her sanity and mental state). To gain this “prize” she and JK Trotter from Gawker are looking for more alleged “rapists” in all the wrong places. From Twitchy:

We recently heard from author and actress Lena Dunham when Buzzfeed offered her extensive space to issue a “steaming load of faux victim bullcrap.” Thursday afternoon, it was Gawker that published a lengthy piece on her book, clearly unhappy with the existing coverage by “Dunham’s antagonists,” particularly the “right-wing press.”

Writer J.K. Trotter clearly was unimpressed with the efforts of Breitbart’s John Nolte, who visited Oberlin College in a search for Dunham’s alleged rapist, “Barry.” Nolte “could not find a Republican named Barry who attended Oberlin during Dunham’s time there who came anywhere close to matching her description of him. In fact, we could not find anyone who remembered any Oberlin Republican who matched Dunham’s colorful description. Under scrutiny, Dunham’s rape story didn’t just fall apart; it evaporated into pixie dust and blew away.”

Seriously? Poor widdle flower needs to be protected by a big strong man? Seriously? Isn’t feminism about equal rights?

One would hope the gentleman who was named by Miss Dunham after her “night of lovemaking” (which was the description given by no rape victim ever) has retained a very good lawyer.  And that the significant award of cash from a jury teaches reporter and “celebrity” alike that truth matters.

Being a victim of acquaintance rape is real. Being raped by a stranger is real. Being sexually assaulted is real (and as a side note, please spare me the nonsense about these not being connected: they are). Saying oops after a night of lovemaking: a bad decision but not rape. False accusations? Should be criminal with the exact same penalties that criminal sexual conduct charges have. And yes these accusers should be made to register like all the other sex offenders. But this faux victim bullcrap is only going to hurt victims of sexual assault. False charges getting lot of attention just taint the views of the jury pool. Never mind the damage to the accused and their families.  Fame and thirty seconds in the spotlight is more important than truth after all.

Miss Dunham contrary to your book title, you ARE that kind of girl.

Nice book cover. Advice by Lena Dunham? Makes it sound like she’s some great authority on something (I’d never even heard of this kook until I read about her shenanigans here). She’s going to tell me what she learned? Yeah-how to be an attention whore by acting like some sort of Lefty Mc Carthyist. First time available in paperback? Seems like a waste of perfectly good paper and ink.

Lena Dunham should change her name to Lena Dungheap because that’s where her book and her story belongs.
