She’s on the case! It’s a mystery wrapped up in an enigma according to Mayor Karen Bass! This time, in an interview yesterday, she claims that NO ONE TOLD HER that LA was under major high wind warnings. Yes folks, it’s not HER fault that Pacific Palisades started burning to the ground while she was partying in Ghana. 

“The White House called and asked me if I would represent the president. I said yes. It was going to be a very, very short trip, over a weekend and two business days,” she explained.

The mayor says LA Fire Chief Kristin Crowley did not call to warn her in advance of the trip and didn’t do the “normal preparations” for this kind of wind event. Bass told FOX 11 that no advance warnings were given to her prior to leaving.

Yes, there it is. Blame everyone else for her mistakes. You see, no one told her it was going to be this bad. No one told her that maybe they should prepare and stage in case something major happens.

No one told her that there was a potential high wind event that could impact the greater LA area? Well, someone certainly told the staffer in her office who runs her X account! 

There is an expected destructive and potentially life-threatening windstorm starting Tuesday morning through Wednesday afternoon.

Furthermore both local and national news was chock full of warnings about the upcoming high wind events. Yet she jaunted off to party in Ghana anyway. Leaving no one in charge since the Deputy Mayor of LA is being investigated and is on leave regarding a bomb threat, yes a bomb threat, against City Hall. Which meant there was a day-long scramble (as thousands of acres and homes burned) to figure out who could sign an emergency declaration. 

But you see, NONE of that is Karen’s fault. And, therefore, as she works to throw everyone else under the bus, she grandly announces she’s on the case to solve the mystery of the hidden wind warnings!

During the course of her investigation, do you think she’ll stumble over the clues as to why she ignored the high wind warnings her office was very well aware of? Do you think she’ll discover why advanced prep wasn’t planned for and who the culprit is that left a 117 million gallon reservoir bone dry for well over a year? 

Will any of her trusty sidekicks helpfully point out that Karen abandoned her pledge to not travel outside the United States while mayor? 

When a cascade of deadly and destructive wildfires erupted across the Los Angeles region on Tuesday, the mayor was on her way home from Ghana in West Africa, where she had attended the inauguration of a new president.

It was not her first trip abroad as mayor. A review of her public daily schedule for the past year shows that Ms. Bass has traveled out of the country at city expense at least four other times in recent months before the Ghana visit — once to Mexico for the inauguration of President Claudia Sheinbaum and three times to France for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

All these hidden warnings and Karen is now hot on the trail to find the culprit behind those hidden warnings.

This newly minted Nancy Drew is claiming that she has no idea who “allowed” her to jaunt off to Ghana. This from the same woman who scurried out the door like a scared rabbit when questioned about the Santa Ynez Reservoir that, if filled to its capacity of 117 million gallons, could’ve saved a LOT of homes. 

But Karen, I mean Nancy Drew, just cannot figure out who the culprits are in this case. Its like “Secret of the Old Clock” when the cuckoo is handing you a clue during every single chime, or the hidden staircase is right there in plain sight for all the world to see. 

And yet, Karen Bass going on local news and claims to all of LA and the world that those warnings were hidden from view. Except they weren’t. 

Jan. 2nd: The National Weather Service for Los Angeles warned there was potential for moderate to strong Santa Ana Winds and extreme fire conditions Tuesday through Thursday.

Jan 3rd:The White House announced that Bass would join a Presidential Delegation to attend the inauguration of Ghana’s president.

The National Weather Service said that a Fire Weather Watch is in effect Tuesday through Friday for portions of Los Angeles and Ventura counties.

And yet, Karen left anyway. And now, between the Palisades and Eaton Fires, it will be a miracle if LA can rebuild in 3-5 years given the asinine regulations that are and were in place prior to this devastation. Karen is running for reelection. 

Does anyone REALLY think that, once the mystery of the hidden warnings is solved /sarc, Karen will admit she left her constituents in the lurch and drop out of the race?

She’s too arrogant for that. Nancy Drew she is not.
