Judge Dugan Relieved Of Official Duties

On this Humpday morning we bring you exhibit 1,001 of Play Stupid Games, Win Stupid Prizes: Milwaukee Circuit Court Judge Hannah Dugan. Dugan has been “temporarily relieved” of her duties.

Just days before, Duggan was arrested for helping an illegal criminal avoid an arrest by ICE:

Hannah Dugan was hailed a hero by the left. Take MSNBC, who states Duggan’s arrest “could have a chilling effect that spreads far beyond Wisconsin”:

The arrest of Judge Dugan clearly marks an escalation of the administration’s attacks on the judiciary, such as calls for the impeachment of judges or to strip courts of power. Much like attacks on law firms and universities, such attacks are designed to hinder institutions that might stand in the way of the Trump administration’s agenda, but they also have public safety implications throughout all communities.”-Ray Brescia, professor of law, Albany Law School

You know what was chilling? Hearing the tragic news of women and young girls who were either raped and murdered by criminals who are not supposed to be here. Criminals who have nothing to contribute to this society. Criminals who have no respect for the law.

But, as the journos spin it, Hannah Dugan was standing up to the Trump regime. Let’s talk about who she was standing up for: Eduardo Flores-Ruiz-an illegal criminal from Mexico who is charged with three counts of battery, domestic violence and infliction of physical harm. This guy 1) punched a man 30 times with a closed fist, 2) brutally forced a woman into the kitchen and hit her and 3) assaulted another individual who tried to calm him down. All because someone told him that his music was too loud. A stable human being. A nice guy. He deserves a judge in his corner, don’t you think?

Arresting and apprehending Eduardo Flores-Ruiz was “bad for justice”. Arresting Hannah Duggan, apparently, was “bad for justice”, too. She was (gasp) perp-walked out of the courthouse! And, oh-so-chilling (brr)-that ICE was on-hand to arrest someone who is not here legally. Someone who, yes who broke the law by jumping our border before going on to break the law in other ways once he did jump the border.

She should have hid him in her house.

I do think that there’s a chilling effect to having federal officials prowling a state courthouse to make arrests and absent real danger or exigent circumstances, it feels like that’s not a good thing. We want people in our communities to be willing and able to show up in court. We want those people to know that they can do so without feeling like they’re getting entrapped or something like that, and that’s in all of our interests.” –Jeff Mandell, executive director of Law Forward

Chilling. Sure, Eduardo Flores-Ruiz was not posing any “real danger” in that courtroom at that time. He wasn’t punching people or hitting any women then. He is still here illegally. But Hannah Dugan is “like Anne Frank” or something…

Arresting Dugan was “overreach”, supposedly. Now, she is temporarily relieved of her duties. Has she been suspended with pay?

Prior to being relieved of her duties, Hannah Dugan worked as civil law attorney and as executive director of Catholic Charities, a social service agency. She also taught law courses at Marquette University and Seattle University Law School.

You know what I absolutely love? How Democrats say “no one is above the law” when referring to Trump and this border policies. No one is above the law unless you are a Circuit Court judge like Hannah Dugan who wants to harbor a criminal. Then, you can break the law as you wish.

She must have forgotten who is the President.

I sure hope so! When we talk about prosecution and punishment having a deterrent effect, that is EXACTLY what we mean!

such attacks are designed to hinder institutions that might stand in the way of the Trump administration’s agenda
Well, since Trump was elected to do those things, and those things do not violate his Article II powers under the Constitution, I want to hinder those “institutions” that might stand in his way. Because they’re in violation of their oath to the Constitution. Period.

He deserves a judge in his corner, don’t you think?
You know what? I don’t even care as it concerns Dugan. He could have been in court for a traffic ticket as fas as that goes. She aided an illegal alien to avoid arrest. That is a felony in every situation, but a federal one in this case. *I* would have arrested her on the spot. Hard arrest, too – not some mamby-pamby, “Would you step this way, please?” Face plant to the floor or wall, arm bar to cuff her, and drag her to the vehicle.

She was (gasp) perp-walked out of the courthouse!
Not from the video I saw. She calmly walked out and got in the back seat of a chauffeured SUV from what I saw. What *I* would have done would have been a perp walk.

I do think that there’s a chilling effect to having federal officials prowling a state courthouse to make arrests
I would sure as he** hope so! Criminals try to avoid being arrested, because they don’t like going to jail and prison. Because they’re criminals.

it feels like that’s not a good thing.
Because you don’t want criminals arrested and thrown in prison? You’re an evil sh**head.

We want people in our communities to be willing and able to show up in court.
Well, that’s WHY WE’RE ARRESTING THEM. Then they can be brought to court as needed. If they get bail and are afraid to come back to court because they’ve committed other crimes, maybe they should look at changing their lifestyle. NO SYMPATHY.

and that’s in all of our interests
    No. Actually, it isn’t.

She must have forgotten who is the President.
More importantly, she forgot (or, probably, never gave a carp) about whence comes her authority. It comes from the people, through the Constitution (and the state one) and the law. Her twisted morals are in direct opposition to said Constitutions and the law. (And the laws she broke are very well-founded in good morals.)
