Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt.
It’s better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than open it and remove all doubt.
It’s questionable whether Texas Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett has read the Bible, Mark Twain or Abraham Lincoln. We know she’s just acting out for clicks and mentions, but there is also arrogance and ignorance presenting. Have you heard the latest?
Vice Admiral Shoshana Chatfield was relieved of her command by Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, in what Military.com called a purge of military officers. From the article:
Vice Adm. Shoshana Chatfield has been fired in what appears to be a growing purge of top-ranking military officials by the Trump administration, multiple officials confirmed to Military.com.
Chatfield, who began her career as a helicopter pilot and was the first woman to be president of the Naval War College, had been serving as a senior official at NATO and was one of just a handful of women who occupied the highest ranks of the Navy.
Y’all know what happened right? Since President Clinton took office, there has been a push to get women moved up the promotion list. Not necessarily the best or brightest women, but the ones that said all the right things, like “diversity is our strength” and the like. The necessary purge is to get rid of the diversity crowd and bring in the warfighters. More:
Her ouster comes only days after Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, possibly on orders from the White House, fired the four-star general who ran the National Security Agency. Chatfield is also the second naval officer and woman to be fired by Hegseth, who also relieved Adm. Lisa Franchetti, the Navy’s top military officer and first woman to hold the job, shortly after he took office. President Donald Trump fired Coast Guard Commandant Adm. Linda Fagan, the first woman to hold that position, during his first days in office.
Just like Shoshana Chatfield, Linda Fagan needed to be fired. Purges are not necessarily a bad thing.
Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville held up the promotion of Shoshana Chatfield in 2023:
Rear Adm. Shoshana Chatfield (Navy), nominated for promotion to vice admiral and assignment as U.S. military representative to the NATO Military Committee, complained that since 80 percent of Congress is men, most of the issues that become laws are only important to men.
Oy vey! What a putz. From a year ago, here Shoshana Chatfield talks about empathy building trust and being excited to go to work:
Oy vey! Putz squared. Is she a Naval Admiral or an elementary school principal? Pete Hegseth didn’t need any prompting from President Trump to fire Chatfield.
Always yapping Jasmine Crockett has entered the chat. Jasmine Crockett’s arrogance and ignorance are her calling cards. From Red State:
But Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) posted about it, talking about an unconfirmed report that the admiral refused to post pictures of the President and the SecDef. But the DOD did not say that, and they have not confirmed those claims.
They fired Navy Vice Admiral Shoshana Chatfield—not because she couldn’t do the job, but because she wouldn’t hang up pictures of Trump and Hegseth. This ain’t about merit—it’s about ego.
Now, what’s bizarre here is Crockett’s comment. She had jaws hitting the floor. She doesn’t seem to understand that if what she said about the firing were true, it doesn’t help her argument. Crockett doesn’t seem to understand that, yes, it’s sort of important for members of the military to recognize their chain of command and that there’s a problem if they don’t. How is she this clueless? It’s scary that there’s someone in Congress who can’t grasp that basic fact.
Crockett, like, probably, Chatfield, is of the participation trophy generation. There is no losing, looking inward and having accountability. The United States Military is back to accountability and, hopefully, winning wars. But, Crocket can’t look inward to see that:

More from Red State, sadly Sean Parnell had to explain it to her:
Congresswoman, I realize this may be a foreign concept to you but here at the DoD if you disrespect the chain of command & don’t do your job, you will be replaced. Period.
He shouldn’t have to explain that, and especially not to a member of Congress. President Trump is the Commander in Chief, and Hegseth is the Secretary of Defense — it isn’t about “ego.” Except maybe Crockett’s own ego — she keeps stepping in it when she doesn’t know what she’s talking about.
Sadly, Jasmine Crocket and Shoshana Chatfield are probably not the only elites that didn’t get the assignment. Maybe they should have taken the time to read their Bibles.

Looks like she messed up her retirement. As I recall you have to serve for three years in a rank to be able to retire at that rank. Her promotion to the 3-star rank was confirmed by the Senate in December 2023. Since she was relieved for cause, she can only claim 2-star rank (Rear Admiral). She’ll also loose her security clearance, which will hinder her employability as a MSNBC commentator and to serve of the Board of some Defense Contractors. She may get it back in a new Administration in four years, but by then she’ll be as fresh as stale bread.
Trump may not be Her President, but he is America’s President.
Maybe progressives should start a GoFundMe account for her.
Fire her? You can’t be serious! Some Hawaiian judge will bail her out.
(The advantage to an UCMJ action is that it’s only appealable within the system, then one shot outside of it. I don’t recall which court that is, unfortunately. But the process is pretty rigid and keeps military discipline within the military for the most part.)
I will always be amazed at the lengths someone will go to destroy themselves.
He shouldn’t have to explain that, and especially not to a member of Congress.
Remember that these people are full of projection. Sometimes it’s intentional and sometimes it’s just because they are so inveterately ignorant. With Crockett it’s always hard to tell which.
BTW, the Admiral also stated during an all-hands that they would wait out the current commander-in-chief. That is rank insubordination. Various UCMJ articles might apply. If it can be established by evidence she said that, I think a Separation under other than honorable circumstances should be handed out. Unfortunately (and, also, fortunately) we can’t do the same to Crockett.
Oh, and please make Jasmine Crockett the face of the Democrat Party. She and AOC can drive more people away from that insane asylum.
You just want to date them both, obviously.
And, Toni, it looks like we might have another one!
Base Commander in Pituffik, Greenland, evidently didn’t like something VP Vance said.

Kurt Schlichter noted it to the VP and SecDef. Cynical Publius immediately pointed out Article 88.
Anyone else remember the rash of Article 88 stuff that abounded under Clinton?
