Hypocrisy, thy name is Ocasio-Cortez

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has a vision. She’s walking hand-in-hand with Bernie Sanders into a United States that has become her vision of a socialist paradise. Her rallying cries of “Down with the Oligarchy” will have raised her to the status of most equal among equals. The little people of her district will forget that she never returns to listen to their concerns, opting instead to jet around the country raising her national profile. Who knows? Maybe she’s trying to see if she can be as big of a hypocrite as Al Gore.

You remember good ole Al. He led the climate change charge decades ago. He used it as one of his main platforms in his presidential bid. He claimed he lived a zero emissions life while he jetted around the nation in his private jet and lived in his personal compound that used as much electricity in one month as the average family does in 34 months. He set the example for folks like Ocasio-Cortez to talk the talk but not to walk the walk.

And the people of her district are finally waking up to the problems her ambition brings with it.

Once upon a time, she held monthly town hall meetings in the district. “[N]ow are only held once in a blue moon, there’s virtually no way to get in a question, and sometimes she only phones in and doesn’t bother coming in person, galled constituents said.” Of her two district offices, one is only open one day a week while the other is closed on Fridays.

But it gets better. If calls to her offices often go unanswered. Want to go to her office to discuss a problem? Good luck with that. You’re “encouraged” to make an appointment.

Heaven help you if you want a quick answer to something or have a time sensitive issue that you need help with.

Instead of focusing on the needs of her district, she’s off with Bernie and company in an attempt to rally support in their war on Trump.

Far-left New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was spotted exiting a private jet with her comrade in arms, Sen. Bernie Sanders, after shuttling between stops for a campaign dedicated to denouncing the wealthy.

Video from Fox News shows AOC and Sanders exiting a Bombardier Challenger 604 — despite both railing against flying private planes and the people who own them — a luxury aircraft with a lofty $5 million to $7 million price tag and costing an eye-watering $15,000 per hour to charter.

Most equal among equals where the rules don’t apply. Sound familiar? If you’re old enough to remember the Soviet bloc and the USSR, it should. Here is this politician telling us we shouldn’t fly private, doing just that. Her constituents are worrying about paying their bills and she can’t be bothered to follow her own recommendations.

Her constituents are worried about “jobs, public safety, traffic”, yet those issues are taking a backseat–maybe even being tossed into the trunk–of her attempts to gain national prominence. She shrugged off concerns about a casino proposal by the Mets’ owner that would be built on parkland near Citi Field. Her explanation? It was no longer in her district so all she could do was say she didn’t agree with it being built. However, her constituents are starting to realize that she’s talking out of both sides of her mouth with comments like that. After all, she flew down to Houston to help at a food bank to raise money after winter storms in the state. Too bad she didn’t feel the need to spend as much effort and time helping her own state after Hurricane Ida. She can pose and photoshop pictures showing the plight of undocumented immigrants, but she can’t take time to actually talk to those who voted her into office.

The question isn’t if this surprises any of us. It shouldn’t. She’s been an absentee representative for the district for some time now. Her rival in the 2024 primary pointed out her absence from the district but, for whatever reason, the voters decided to return her to office. The fact this behavior isn’t new makes her re-election all the more difficult to understand. In 2022, she was called out for her absenteeism as well.

But now it looks like eyes are starting to open in New York. Only time will tell if the voters remember her lack of concern and presence in the district. Who knows? Maybe she’ll show up in her Handmaid’s Tale outfit, private jet idling in the background, as she and Bernie and members of “the squad” continue to harangue voters about the oligarchy and its evil, before jetting off to focus on some other state’s issues.

Good luck, NY. You’re going to need it.

Her constituents voted for her because she had a nice rack and promised them paradise. I don’t want to hear their fucking complaints. Get her out of office and get someone in that actually does work and I’ll care.

Sanders and AOC had 2 (large) rallies in 2 cities Bakersfield and Sacramento on the same day. Bernie is now 83 years old. And it is a 5 hour drive. Greenhouse admissions ? Almost all charters offer carbo emission credits that plane would use about 200 gals for that flight creating 2tons of CO2
The cost to negate that CO2 is about 40$. Through carbon credits.
    The rallies raised big bucks.
Socialism? Is an economy planned by government. That would include things like tariffs, social security, and public schools and roads, and food stamps. The biggest number of EBT users are social parasites who have never ever worked a day in their lives. You know who I am talking about!kids!
    The 2nd largest group? Elderly.
Single adult names? Less than 10%
Which states have the highest per capital EBT recipients
The poorest states, all red states
Blue states pay the most in taxes because we are richer
    Hypocrisy?
