Well, it seems U.S. Attorney David Weiss does have a spine. Hunter Biden is now facing trial after being indicted on three federal gun charges.
First son Hunter Biden was indicted Thursday in Delaware by special counsel David Weiss on three counts related to lying about being addicted to crack cocaine when he bought a gun nearly five years ago — two days after House Republicans launched an impeachment inquiry into President Biden’s role in Hunter’s foreign business dealings.
The charges carry a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison and could form the first of multiple criminal cases against Hunter, now 53, including tax fraud and illegal foreign lobbying counts in DC and Los Angeles.
Yes, he “could” conceivably get the maximum sentence on all three charges. I say “could” because in this political climate, does one think the judge (unless it is Judge Maryellen Noreika who tanked Hunter’s sweetheart deal) will actually throw the book at him after the verdict is rendered?

Keep in mind, these gun charges should’ve been leveled at Hunter Biden a long time ago. In 2018, he was a full-fledged drug addict. Therefore, by federal law, he shouldn’t have been able to purchase a gun. Yet purchase one and lie on the forms he did. You can read the full indictment here.
The media has been providing cover for Joe and therefore Hunter for years now by claiming ‘nothing happened,’ the laptop is fake until it wasn’t, Hunter is just a poor misguided little boy, and these charges are all because of the GOP/MAGA Republican apparatus. Heck, Philip Bump threw a massive hissy fit and stormed out of an interview because he didn’t want to acknowledge reality!

The reality is, Hunter Biden needs to face a whole helluva lot more charges and stand trial for them. If that gets Joe “The Big Guy” Biden caught in the crosshairs, so be it.

COUNT 1: False Statement in Purchase of a Firearm
Faces a maximum of 10 years of imprisonment; a fine of $250,000; 3 years of supervised release; a special assessment of $100.
COUNT 2: False Statement Related to Information Required to be Kept by Federal Firearms Licensed Dealer
Faces a maximum of 5 years of imprisonment; a fine of $250,000; 3 years of supervised release; a special assessment of $100.
COURT 3: Possession of a Firearm by a Person who is an Unlawful User of or Addicted to a Controlled Substance
Faces a maximum of 10 years imprisonment; a fine of $250,000; 3 years of supervised release; a special assessment of $100.
And, the media is just appalled that this is happening.
If Hunter Biden was, say, Hunter Jones, I’d bet gun rights advocates would be arguing that his 2d Amendment rights are being violated.

No Geraldo, that ain’t it. It doesn’t matter WHO you are or what party you belong to. You lie on a FFL form to purchase a gun, then you absolutely deserve the consequences. PERIOD.

Seriously dude? Hunter is 54 YEARS OLD. He’s a freaking ADULT who is totally responsible for this mess, as are his enabling parents. Invoking both Beau and his sister to elicit sympathy… WOW.

It will be a level playing field ONLY if Hunter is actually sentenced instead of getting a slap on the wrist.
This is the same media who is horrified at the thought of Joe Biden being impeached, but are still crying in their Cheerios over the fact that Trump prevailed against TWO impeachments!
As many are asking, while the media clutches pearls and Democrats try to figure out how to spin this mess Hunter landed them in…
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green questioned where additional charges against Hunter Biden could be posting on X: “Where are the indictments for tax fraud, FARA abuse, money laundering, and sex trafficking???
Rep. Eric Burlison posted: “Hunter being indicted is a sacrificial lamb Joe and the Deep State are hoping will be enough to distract the American people from all their crimes. Don’t fall for it. We want the ‘Big Guy.'”
“What are the odds that Hunter Biden is indicted on felony gun charges 6 DAYS before AG Garland testifies before Congress? I’m sure it’s just a coincidence,” Rep. Troy Nehls posted on X.
Yes, this is a very small start to a very BIG problem that Hunter Biden created for himself, his family, and Joe. Meanwhile one of Hunter’s attorneys issued a statement.
Defense attorney Abbe Lowell argued that part of the deal remains in place, including its immunity provisions against other potential charges. He said in a statement that Hunter Biden “possessing an unloaded gun for 11 days” presented no threat to public safety and slammed “’MAGA Republicans’ improper and partisan interference in this process,” a reference to Trump’s “Make America Great Again” slogan.
Nice spin there Abbe! Guess what, it doesn’t matter that he had that gun (and is it the ONLY gun he had) for eleven days. Hunter LIED on the forms. That’s a federal offense.

Ann in L.A. says: The weapon he’s brandishing on the laptop is not a revolver. He had more than one firearm. What about the other one(s)?
SFC D says: From what I read, there’s no charges brought on that weapon because there’s no paper trail. Although one would think the photo of the pistol in his hand would be enough proof. He’s a prohibited possessor, doesn’t even matter if it’s not his gun.

It could prove an interesting distraction for the Socialist Democrats while the House digs deeper into the real crime……However, I’d still like to know whose cocaine that was…
