Huzzah! Kamala Harris lost the 2024 Presidential Election in spectacular fashion and we have so much to be grateful for. President Trump lost the 2020 Election and that turned out to be super good for all of us. Let’s celebrate our gratitude. Huzzah!

We have much to be grateful for every year. We were born at this time and in this place. We have air-conditioning, central heating, flush toilets and blow dryers. There will always be vexations in life like line jumpers and bad fashion, but this year we should be extra special grateful. We dodged the Kamala bullet this year. The shallow part of me, well, most of me is nearly giddy over no more word salads:

Shallow though I may be. I don’t think our beloved country could survive four more years of her word salads. That doesn’t take into account that her policies. We wouldn’t be “Slouching Towards Gomorrah”. We would be on the particle accelerator to Gomorrah. We will have a sliver of a chance to turn this circus around. Kamala Harris is a vacuums. She is an empty vessel, power hungry and will to be filled up with whatever gets her recognition.

Eddie Scarry writing in The Federalist is thankful that Kamala has “delusional self-confidence” and that that was part of her downfall. From the article:

Kamala is the worst kind of politician. Bad ones have bad policy ideas, but they at least have ideas. Kamala is below that. She has no ideas, which is why she was able to abandon every extreme position she had just three years ago without a flicker of meaningful explanation. In place of ideas, she has self-admiration.

Yeah, no. I don’t think so. I agree with everything up to “she has self-admiration”. She was a good-looking biracial woman. She was born in this time with a golden-ticket, but I don’t think she likes herself much. Anyone who has seen Kamala’s donor call video knows. Our Deanna called Kamala Harris an “empty piece of baked fluff”. There are a lot of jokes layered into that. I don’t think that Kamala Harris has the delusion of self-admiration. I think that Harris has always known that she doesn’t have the smarts or the wherewithal to succeed on her own. She is an empty suit.

It’s a California thing to use those kind of empty word salads. Eddie is right though, Kamala doesn’t feel shame:

None of it can be described as an embarrassment or humiliation, even in defeat. An asteroid floating through space doesn’t feel shame, even after slamming into a celestial body and disintegrating. Kamala doesn’t have that capacity. She has her sense of self, and it’s too big for other concepts.

I don’t think she has a sense of self. That’s why we get that performance that Deanna wrote up.
