Graham Platner and other hopeful candidates are being sought out at cattle calls and packaged and sold like soap to the yokels. Of course, it has been ever thus. There is nothing new under the sun. These young folk act like they were the first to think this up. Smoke-filled rooms are exchanged for zoom on laptops and facial recognition. It’s up to consumers aka yokels to keep ahead of the consultant class and their shenanigans.
Way back when Gorn first shambled out of the cave with a *new and improved* method for attracting a lady love, bipeds have been looking for ways to package, advertise and sell ideas and products to other bipeds. They sound new but they are just new buzzwords and younger hustlers.
Thus, we get this from the New York Post “Meet the champagne socialist duo who groomed rich kid Graham Platner into a ‘working-class’ candidate”:
Graham Platner has done a better job of hiding his privileged roots than the Nazi tattoo on his chest — a move which is by design.
The embattled Maine candidate for US Senate is vocal about his disabled-war-veteran, rugged-oyster-farmer, “working-class” persona — and less so about his attendance at an $80,000-a-year boarding school, his lawyer father, or his major architect grandfather.
That’s because he’s been coached on how to present himself, molded to present a specific image — and, in a sense, manufactured.
Think Eliza Doolittle in “My Fair Lady” or, if you are of a literary bent think “Pygmalion” by that misogynist George Bernard Shaw. Think about how the media is reacting to the latest stories about Graham Platner as Nina wrote today, “Dems And Media On Platner: Believe All Women UNLESS She’s A Republican”. It’s all packaging and marketing. Chop it up into small enough pieces and feed it to the masses.
More:
The truth is he was discovered and coached by a pair of Ivy League-educated radical Democratic socialists, replicating a playbook they’ve used in Nebraska and Iowa. That revelation could be more damaging than the tattoo, sexting women other than his wife, blasting fellow veterans and admitting to masturbating in a port-a-potty, as it strikes at the heart of Platner’s alleged authenticity.
They audition people that fit the story they are trying to tell for a certain position. Like this:
In summer 2025, Moraff and Fan were in Maine scouting for a new candidate. They had settled on union boss Chris Williams in Bath, but dropped him at the last minute due to “a skeleton in the closet that wasn’t true that we would’ve had to explain,” according to an interview they gave to Politico.
It remains to be seen if those skeletons were worse than Platner’s. Williams did not respond to The Post’s request for comment.
Moraff — who has his own Dark Forest consulting firm — and Fan had first gotten wind of Platner through the local DSA network, where he had been active in the local offshoot group Acadia Action and had been featured in a recent New York Times travel story about oysters in Maine.
They entered Ironbound, Platner’s mother’s restaurant, just a few miles from where he lives in Sullivan and made contact. After talking with him, they felt they had their candidate.
Not unlike a few years ago with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez:
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made headlines on June 26, 2018, after defeating 20-year incumbent Rep. Joe Crowley (N.Y.) in the Democratic primary.
But the story behind her campaign starts with the progressive political action groups Justice Democrats and Brand New Congress.
Ocasio-Cortez’s name was just one of thousands the organizations received in 2016 as part of a massive online call for nominations. Her meteoric rise shocked everyone involved, including Justice Democrats Executive Director Alexandra Rojas, who ran the field program for the last two months of Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign.
She’s a paid actress. She was recruited and auditioned to run for Congress. AOC is from upstate. Not the Bronx. She’s a fraud!

Packaged and advertised just like jeans brands or soap. Graham Platner was recruited to fulfill a type of man. He is what the Democrats would call a “typical male”. None that I know. Most men I know would not abide the type of behavior that Platner excuses.
I am a man, and Platner is a pathetic excuse for a man. He is also an avowed Nazi which you see as not entirely disqualifying. https://t.co/0kokKtQMos

When the packaging isn’t perfect and the truth seeps though, then use that to push everything forward.
Graham Platner has built a monument to himself build out of lies and the consultant class is going to push it forward into momentum Unstoppable moment. Platner isn’t dropping out of any race. The consultant class are going to use this to propel Platner forward.
Remember when they used to have those “Sanitized for your protection” bands on toilet seats in hotels:
You really didn’t know if it had been “sanitized” or not, but it made you feel better. Advertising and product promotions are not new and do work. We yokels have to stay a step ahead.
