After Donald Trump’s win in the 2024 Presidential Election Tuesday night, George W. Bush has extended an olive branch to him. Trump has been magnanimous in Trump’s recent victory, but there are some of us (points to self) who have major misgivings about Bush opening his yap in public ever again.
In the spirit of full disclosure, I am a loyal kind of gal. I volunteered and donated money both times when George W. Bush ran for the Presidency, both times. When the country was told there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, I believed and thought the naysayers were wrong. Nope. I was wrong. You still would think that I would be chuffed that Bush is congratulating Trump and J.D. Vance on their win. No. Spare me, please. From Daily Wire:
In the late days of the election, former Republican Rep. and Harris surrogate Liz Cheney encouraged Bush to endorse Harris, but he remained silent during the entire campaign and all the way up until Trump was named president-elect.
In my opinion, this is a rather tepid congratulations and an olive branch sans olives. I’ve really gone off George W. Bush in the last few years so forgive me if I am skeptical. Look, I think it’s great that Presidents retire to their estates outside of D.C. and don’t get involved in politics. Barack and Michelle Obama never left and let us all know that the American people have let the Obamas down yet again. We are glad W has kept things close to the vest and he’s happy with the healthy election turn out but Kamala go about 15 million fewer votes than Kamala and no one is asking where the votes went. Any thoughts, George?
Also, don’t forget that Trump is Hitler and so was George W. Bush:
George W. Bush was Hitler, John McCain was Hitler, Sarah Palin and Mitt Romney were also Hitler. Now Trump is Hitler too.

Bush should know how many lies were told by him and about him:
It wasn’t just that Bush forgot everything said about him and done to him. He did not defend Trump or the American people torched by the Left.
Bush, who has been relatively quiet on the political scene since he left office in 2009, let loose in a rare TV appearance, saying the Jan. 6 insurrection “made me sick” and was a “terrible moment in our history” that taints the image of the United States around the world.
“This sends a signal to the world that we’re no different,” Bush said on NBC’s “Today” show Tuesday, countering the beloved conservative idea of American exceptionalism.
But Bush – anticipating a question about whether former President Trump was responsible for Jan. 6 – punted.
“I’m not going to cast blame,” he said. But he noted that he had been watching the prosecutions of people involved in the riot and felt “people deserve to be busted. It looks like they got what’s going after them.”
“It was a terrible moment in our history. And it’s gonna be a part of our history,” Bush said.
Bush lied to Weapons of Message Destruction to drive us into Afghanistan. He was called BushHilter for eight years. We are not asking for pistols at Dawn, but we would like George W. Bush to at least stand up for Donald Trump.
We don’t expect a lot from George W. Chaney. We don’t want him to lecture us a la Obama. But, don’t keep mum when Republicans are being attacked. As a former President, W should know that Trump didn’t call January 6. We need George to be a little vocal in discussing Democrats. Unless he believe they are paragons of virtue.

Excellent. I too was duped by the WMD argument, although that was hardly the only piece on the board at the time. Plus, the kinetic phase of the war was never in doubt. The biggest gripe I have with W is that proceeded to completely boot the peace. For no good reason.
