I like to choose violence, personally. I try to do so daily. I also have very strong feels about common sense and try to implement it in my daily thoughts and actions. This editor from The Nation apparently only does the former according to this FoxNews article.

In a moment of violent thoughts rife with a lack of self-editing, The Nation editor Elie Mystal felt the need to wish death upon Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito on Twitter:

Next time some rich white person wants to take Sam Alito on an expensive trip, please take him to see the Titanic.

He followed this, of course, with the perfunctory “That was a joke” and added Justice Alito’s decision on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which overturned Roe v. Wade, stating that “This is vile.”

No, Mr. Elie Mystal, jokes are funny, like your face. What is NOT funny is referring to Justice Alito’s opinion as “vile” because he RESPECTS life. It’s obvious that Mr. Mystal does not. And given the news today regarding the probable fate of the submersible that was taking that trip to the Titanic’s wreckage, the “joke” is even more disgusting.

As a lover of words myself, I can understand hyperbole and its use to convey strength of feels on a subject. This is not the same.

Wishing a public individual’s death on a very visible public platform, and wishing that death be full of pain and uncertainty is inhuman.

Now the worst part from this racist spawn of Satan’s big brown eye is of course his urging “…some rich white person” go along with Justice Alito on his trip off this mortal coil. Par for the course for this perpetual bigot who once referred to our Constitution as “actually trash” and argued that it was written by “a bunch of rich, white politicians making deals with each other,” who owned slaves, and didn’t allow any non-White people into the room to have their voices heard, leading to his view that the nation’s founding document has been “given too much deference.”

You’d expect someone in his position to know, or at least be aware of, the goings on and happenings of people he apparently wants to see harm befall so intensely, especially things like nefarious packages or other such items that could be seen as threatening.

But no, please make ridiculous posts about harm and/or death befalling a Supreme Court justice because it irks someone who thinks killing unborn human is acceptable. How tolerant and kind are the left?
