The Biden administration and democrat leaders have all but surrendered.  They will make a big show of things between now and November, but we know and they know that it’s too little too late.  Yes, six months can be a lifetime in the political world, but short of a true nuclear war with Russia, I can’t think of much that will turn the Biden trainwreck around before the midterms.  At this point, their big game plan is all talk and no action.  According to Washington Examiner, democrats have the deluded idea that they can trot Gramps out to talk about the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill.  Geez, that is LITERALLY so last year.  It’s clear that the White House think American’s are dumb.  If they think that talking about some new bridges or broadband expansion will make us forget that our grocery bills have skyrocketed, we can hardly afford gas to get to work, or that inner cities are dystopian nightmares… they have another thing coming.

But it seems democrats are going through the five stages of grief:

Denial:

Democrats are in denial about the mess they have made and hope we won’t notice.  We just got word that the U.S. GDP contracted an amazing 1.4% in the first quarter.  How does that even happen after an artificial stranglehold on the economy for two years?  All Biden and the democrats had to do was let people go back to work and get out of the freaking way.  Our economy should have exploded like a bottle of shaken Coca-Cola on a hot summer’s day.  Instead, they poured money into our economy, throttled our gas and oil industry, and added new regulations to every sector you can think of.  They seem to believe that it’s a swell idea to talk about spending more money AND raising taxes at the same time.  Listen as Chuck Schumer explains how the key to ridding us of inflation is to raise tax rates.  Unbelievable!

Anger:

Democratic want to talk about January 6th and make sure we are ANGRY about it.  The problem is no one even cares about this anymore.  Congress is teasing a summer blockbuster event that will have the equivalent outcome of Ishtar, debatably the worst movie ever made.  Even FiveThirtyEight reported earlier this week:

Bargaining:

The White House Hopes that Biden can bargain with college-educated white liberals by paying off their student loans.  Yeah, I’m not sure how that is going to play in Peoria or the streets of Philly.  Blue collar democrats are not going to be thrilled to see their hard-earned tax dollars get re-routed to snotty little Karen’s who think cis-gendered white males are the root of all evil.  But hey, the 12 votes they might garner will be worth it, I’m sure.  I don’t know if this bribery scheme will be enough to move the needle with younger voters who are pissed off as all hell that their hopes and dreams were crushed against the wall of reality when they voted for Joe Biden in 2020.  Almost none of the progressive wish-list has been enacted and the youth vote has turned on Biden in response.   According to the Hill, Biden’s approval rating among young voters has tanked 41%.

“President Biden’s approval rating was down to 41 percent among young Americans, down nearly 20 percent on a year ago, a new poll out Monday showed.  The poll from the Institute of Politics at Harvard Kennedy School indicated a drop from 46 percent approval for Biden last fall, and 59 percent last spring.”

Depression:

Everyone who pays attention to politics knows that this White House has achieved less in 18 months than the last three Presidents in the same period.  Not only did they get cock-blocked by the 50/50 split in the Senate, but just for good measure, Sen. Joe Manchin and Sen. Kyrsten Sinema kicked Biden in the groin over multiple Democratic agenda items.

From the Washington Examiner article:

“Liberals don’t think Biden has done enough. He has passed only one major piece of legislation, the American Rescue Plan, on a partisan basis. Build Back Better, the voting bills, gun control, and immigration reform have all stalled. He has done less than the Congressional Progressive Caucus would like through executive action, and other things he has tried to do have been overturned by the courts.”

Acceptance:

Despite the coming sound and fury, every top democrat pundit and talking head is acknowledging the brutal beat down the libs are going to take in the 2022 midterms.  They will talk up Jan. 6th.  They will blame Putin, Trump and the Easter Bunny… anyone other than themselves.  But they are essentially waving the white flag behind closed doors:

“The House is gone,” said a Democratic strategist who requested anonymity to speak candidly. “The Senate, depending on how the [Republican] primaries shake out and what Trump does, could be saved.” 

Yeah, I would happily take on that wager.  I think all that’s left is counting the votes.  If they aren’t rigged anyway.
