The Department of Homeland Security has moved to bar Democrat staffers from family detention centers at the United States-Mexico border after some staffers behaved badly last week. House Oversight Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings’ staffers are the latest to visit the centers and misbehave.

Fox News reported that the Democrat staffers wouldn’t follow orders, stayed too long in some areas, and skipped some presentations. From the article:

“Due to the operational burden placed on the field by their refusal to comply with instruction during last week’s STAFFDEL [staff delegation visit], CBP pulled the trip in which more site visits were to take place at CBP and ICE facilities this week,” a senior DHS official told Fox News in an email Wednesday. “DHS communicated to the committee that due to their conduct, CBP could not support visits from the committee this week.”

Like we should be surprised at the staff’s poor behavior. They learned from their leaders. The Washington Examiner reminded us about Cummings inane tirade in July:

“I get tired of folks saying, ‘Oh, oh, they just beating up on the Border Patrol. Oh, they just beating up on Homeland Security.’ What I am saying, is I want to concentrate on these children. And I want to make sure that they are OK,” Cummings said. “We are the greatest country in the world. We are the ones that can go anywhere in the world and save people, make sure they have diapers, make sure they have toothbrushes, make sure they’re not laying around defecating in some silver paper.”

Inane and nonsensical.

And, Victory Girls’ Jodi Giddings wrote about the always inane Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her bad behavior. From the article:

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., screamed at federal law enforcement agents ‘in a threatening manner’ during a visit to a Border Patrol facility in El Paso, Texas, and refused to tour the facility, according to two people who witnessed the incident.”

“A group of 14 House Democrats, including Ocasio-Cortez, and their aides kicked off their visit to the region at about 11 a.m. MST Monday at the El Paso Station on Hondo Pass Drive.”

“The group was standing inside the station near an area where migrants are held when Ocasio-Cortez left them to sit inside a nearby holding area with a family as the other lawmakers and aides were briefed on station operations.”

“’She comes out screaming at our agents, right at the beginning [of the tour] … Crying and screaming and yelling,’” said one witness who said he was stunned by the outburst in front of approximately 40 people.”

So, if Democrat staffers are being rude and disrespectful to professional law enforcement officers doing the best they can with laws written by the Congress the staffers work for, the Democrat staffers are just modeling the behavior they have seen.

Take a look at these showboating Democrat lawmakers:

The Customs and Border Protection officers don’t just make up random rules for the facility visitors to follow. The rules are in place to protect the privacy of the detainees, insure good, orderly discipline, and allow the officers to do their jobs effectively. When the visiting staffers misbehave, it not only disrupts the officers’ day, it signals to the detainees that they don’t have to behave either.

If the Democrat staffers and the lawmakers they work for were really interested in the illegal immigration problem, they wouldn’t beat up on our law enforcement officers. The Democrat staffers would beg their bosses to fix the laws.
