Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives have sucked up funding of organizations and institutions of higher learning alike.
If you heard the earth shake along with some silent (and not so silent) cheers yesterday, you were not hallucinating. DeSantis did it again. This time, by signing a bill defunding DEI programs at Florida universities.
According to this from The Hill, DeSantis signed the bill at the New College of Florida, the liberal arts school where he recently replaced the school’s board of trustees with conservatives who promptly dissolved the university’s DEI department.
Call me sadistic, but I am laughing right now. I am also hopeful the funding used for these initiatives and salaries will go towards providing students with a quality higher learning experience in their chosen degree field.
This bill says the whole experiment with DEI is coming to an end in the state of Florida.”-Ron DeSantis
The University of Florida also followed suit yesterday, eliminating DEI positions/programs:
The Board of Governors defines DEI as ‘any program, campus activity, or policy that classifies individuals on the basis of race, color, sex, national origin, gender identity, or sexual orientation and promotes differential or preferential treatment of individuals on the basis of such classification.'”-Lillian Lawson, The Gainesville Sun
Treat people as individuals and not members of groups. Amen. A novel concept, though I am sure that I will be called out for my “privilege” because I, for one, do not designate people by the color of their skin or their sexual proclivities. Perhaps, this initiative will allow these students to actually see their classmates for who they are and their character and encourage deeper, more meaningful conversations, collaboration and understanding. But, alas, not everyone feels this way.
Take Freedom for Individual Rights and Express (FIRE), a “free speech” organization:
The expansion of the Stop WOKE Act is just as unconstitutional as the first version. Florida’s universities should be places open to the free exchange of ideas. When lawmakers start voting ideas off the table, no idea is safe from censorship.” –FIRE attorney Adam Steinbaugh
So, “free” speech requires certain groups of people in this country (ahem-white children of generational European immigrants, mainly) to pipe down and not say anything or stand up for anything for that matter-unless-they are acknowledging their privilege. We wouldn’t want other ethnic groups or cultures to feel left out, or less-than, now would we? This is what DEI tells us. This is DEI’s definition of “free speech” and “equality”. DEI also dictates to us that we can segregate on college dorms by having “all Black dorms” or, “affinity housing”. No, in this case, this is not racist at all. The same DEI initiatives dictate that men can co-mingle in locker rooms and bathrooms as long as they identify as “women”-even if it id only on Sundays. DEI also dictates that certain words are scrubbed out of vocabulary in certain trades, like IT for example. This jackassery is all brought to you by DEI (slow clap).
Now, let’s attack DEI in K-12:

I heard a story the other day from a friend. Her daughter, a 12th-grader, was given an assignment in school. The assignment was to craft a “privilege bracelet”. Yes, a real assignment. Take a look:
Description: For this activity students will be making a bracelet to represent the different identities that they have privilege in. To begin the beads are all sorted into different dishes and placed around the room where they are matched to a question sheet. So for example the blue beads would symbolize religious privilege and students would take a bead for ever (SIC) religious statement that they felt they had experienced privilege. This activity should remain silent while the participants are walking around gathering beads. They should then make their bracelets or keychains and follow-up questions could be asked after to close out the activity.”-Relando Thompkins-Jones
Let’s examine some of these questions, shall we? Some of these categories include “Christian Privilege”, “Sexuality Privilege”, and just “Random Privilege”…
Christian Privilege: “My place of work or school is closed on your major religious holidays.”
Don’t you know it? Marxist/Atheists love Christmas break, too! I don’t see any of them volunteering to come to work on those days in rebellion of white, Christian values and privilege. Hell, some of them will even take the extra “sick day” as a bonus add-on after New Year’s!
Sexuality Privilege: No one will ever question whether or not it is appropriate for me to have children or get married because of my sexuality,”
Women, shut up and let the dude use your restroom, already. Don’t dare tell HIM that HE does not have the correct plumbing to have babies!
Random Privilege: If you do not have to worry if there will be enough room for you in a car, airplane or a theater seat.”
I can’t with some of this stuff. I honestly don’t even know what to do with this. If you’re heinously overweight by choice (not genetically predisposed or due to a medical condition) and overeat or eat like crap because you can, and you expect a free seat on an airplane at a cost to the airline who needs to offset costs on jet fuel to haul your fat a$$ around, then YOU might be the privileged one.
DEI is the reason for some of these “lessons” popping up in our schools. And, people have made a fortune off of these initiatives-centered and focused around victimhood. This is why we are weak. This is why other countries look at us and think we’re an absolute joke. It’s not because we celebrate Christmas. It’s because we have delusional white MEN who think they are legit women. It’s because we have obese passengers demanding extra seats on a plane whilst chowing down on Hostess cupcakes. It’s because we have Black students who don’t want to be in the same living quarters as White students. It is because of all of this absurdity of twisting history and making Americans victims is all the rage (veiled as “DEI”).
Serious questions.
Are white people capable of helping themselves? Are Asians capable of helping themselves?
Are black people capable of helping themselves?
Are Mexicans capable of helping themselves?
At what point do we accept responsibility for the outcomes of our lives?

If you’re looking to send your kid to college, Florida is looking good. Your child might actually learn something.

FIRE is actually a free speech organization and they have helped out people on both sides of the spectrum. That being said, I think they fail to realize that DIE acolytes shut down all points of view other than what they approve of.
