This past week I compared Barack Obama and his ‘strategic patience’ policy to that of Neville Chamberlain in 1938.

I’m not so sure anymore.

I think Obama’s policy is far, far more nefarious than that of the hapless British Prime Minister.

On Tuesday, the United States decided to close its embassy in Yemen due to the takeover of that country by Iranian-backed Houthi rebels. This is the third embassy the US has had to close since the Arab Spring, the first two being embassies in Libya (Benghazi) and Syria.

It gets worse. There’s the scandal surrounding the directives given to the embassy Marines by the State Department prior to evacuation.

While earlier reports claimed that the Marines were required to surrender their weapons prior to the evacuation from Yemen, the Corps has clarified the incident. The Marine Corps reports that crew served weapons were destroyed at the embassy, and personal weapons “rendered inoperable” at the airport. While this appears more palatable than the earlier report of Marines surrendering weapons to the Houthis, CENTCOM is still outraged at the destruction of personal weapons.

So who at State ordered this? How far up did this go, and why?

Now Fox News’s Jennifer Griffin has found out even more unsettling information about Iran, the nation that Obama so wants to court for a nuclear weapons treaty.

It seems that a covert cell directed by Iran has been smuggling arms into various conflicts in the Mideast, fueling the bloodshed. The group is called Unit 190, and it is a small group of about 24 members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard’s Quds Force. Fox News and western intelligence forces have traced Unit 190’s land, air, and sea routes used to smuggle weapons and equipment into the welcoming arms of Hezbollah, Hamas, and now the Houthis. These include RPG’s, long-range rockets, and night vision equipment packed into powdered milk, cement, and vehicle spare parts, which were hid under legal truck cargo. The international airport in Tehran reportedly has a hangar which serves as a warehouse for Unit 190.

In 2013 the US Navy intercepted anti-tank and anti-aircraft missiles loaded onto a boat bound for the Houthis in Yemen. Israel has been even more active in trying to contain the smuggling; in 2012 Israeli F-15 fighter jets bombed a stockpile of these weapons in Khartoum, Sudan. In March of 2014 the Israeli navy stopped a commercial vessel packed with Syrian long-range rockets.

Yet Obama continues to butter up to Iran in an effort to broker some sort of nuclear weapons deal. Is he really that dense?

In a joint news conference at the White House with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Obama said regarding Iran:

“And if in fact what they claim is true, which is they have no aspiration to get a nuclear weapon, that in fact, according to their Supreme Leader, it would be contrary to their faith to obtain a nuclear weapon, if that is true, there should be the possibility of getting a deal. They should be able to get to yes. But we don’t know if that’s going to happen.”

He trusts their Supreme Leader? With all the weapon smuggling, the connections to Al Qaeda, the Houthi takeover in Yemen, he still thinks it’s “contrary to their faith to obtain a nuclear weapon?”

Or is there something far more treacherous simmering?

Radio host, former Reagan staffer, and attorney Mark Levin is convinced that Obama is working to destroy Israel. In his February 10 broadcast, Levin stated:

Do you know why they censor themselves and change the language in describing the enemy? Because he’s trying to protect the Muslim faith of his father…the Muslim faith he was around far more than the traditional Christian faith. If that’s Christianity they were practicing in Jeremiah Wright’s church, then I’m a Christian. And I’m Jewish.

I don’t think Barack Obama was ever taught about Christianity. He was taught about radicalism through a cereal box preacher camouflaged as a church. He was taught extreme radicalism rather than faith. The one faith he had exposure to was his father’s faith. . . .

So Obama has an affinity for Islam far more than Christianity and Judaism. No question about it. No question about it.

I’m not surmising, I’m not implying. I’m listening to him. I’m watching him. He’s telling us this.

If organized religion, if organized Christianity were going through a continent slaughtering Muslims and Jews, and anybody else who wouldn’t agree with them, I think Obama would point that out.

Obama already is seeking to destroy Israel. . . . He seeks to destroy Israel!

Yes he does. He seeks to destroy Israel.

Obama detests Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, he has tried to undermine Netanyahu’s re-election, and he tries to curry favor with Iran, a nation which has set its sights on the destruction of Israel. There was a time when I would’ve been skeptical of Levin’s theory. I could not conceive of an American president working for such an end. But no more. No more.
