Crystal Mangum, who accused three Duke Lacrosse players of rape eighteen years ago, is now remorseful and wants, no she EXPECTS, their forgiveness.
Keep in mind, this is the stripper who, with her accusations, ruined the lives of three lacrosse players and the team as a whole. She accused them of rape after a wild party thrown by the team. Her story was treated as 100% credible by law enforcement, most of the Duke faculty (who took out an ad advocating for the stripper!), the media, and especially Mike Nifong the prosecutor.
Former Durham County district attorney Mike Nifong, who served as the lead prosecutor in the case, said in a March 2006 interview with CBS News that “there’s no doubt a sexual assault took place” and that it was “racially motivated.”
“The information that I have does lead me to conclude that a rape did occur,” Nifong said. “The circumstances of thc rape indicated a deep racial motivation for some of the things that were done. It makes a crime that is by its nature one of the most offensive and invasive even more so.”
This story had both national and international attention. All of which was definitively biased in favor of Crystal Mangum and had the entire Duke Lacrosse team and coaches thrown under the bus and stomped on multiple times for good measure.
The story Crystal Mangum peddled changed multiple times, yet everyone believed her. Until finally, the clue bat hit the media and everyone else. She lied like a rug. Mike Nifong, who thoroughly enjoyed the limelight over this, ended up disbarred.
Astoundingly Mangum was never charged with perjury. Why? Because she had mental problems and it would be too hard on her to face any consequences for ruining three young mens lives.
But now, eighteen years later, she’s super sad about all this and totally SORRY!!
Holy shlit. Crystal Mangum just admitted after 18 years that she made up the r*pe allegation against the 3 Duke Lacrosse players.

She wants her brothers in Christ to forgive her.
“I testified falsely against them by saying that they raped me when they didn’t, and that was wrong. And I betrayed the trust of a lot of other people who believed in me,” Mangum said on the web show “Let’s Talk with Kat,” hosted by Katerena DePasquale.
“I made up a story that wasn’t true because I wanted validation from people and not from God,” Mangum said.
On the podcast, she said she hopes the three men will forgive her.
“I want them to know that I love them, and they didn’t deserve that, and I hope that they can forgive me,” she said.
Her lies, that she has peddled for eighteen years, blew up the lives of Collin Finnerty, David Evans, and
Reade Seligmann.
Quite frankly, Crystal Mangum could be the poster girl for the #MeToo movement. She was totally credible until, suddenly, she wasn’t. And everyone buried that reality because it didn’t fit the chosen narrative. Kind of like Jussie Smollett and too many others who’ve peddled lies and faced very little consequences for those lies.
Keep in mind, Crystal hasn’t made good choices in her life. Her admission that she lied took place during a jailhouse podcast. Why jailhouse? Because she’s been serving time since 2013, 14-18 year sentence, for stabbing one of her boyfriends. Furthermore, as I noted above, she kept that lie going for YEARS.
In her 2008 book “Last Dance for Grace: The Crystal Mangum Story,” Mangum wrote, “I will never say that nothing at all happened that night,” after which she provided graphic details of the alleged incident. However, she has told inconsistent accounts of the night throughout the past 18 years.

“My only intentions were for justice, and I wanted justice for myself,” she said. In the speech, she did not admit that she had fabricated the allegations and continued to support the story told in “Last Dance for Grace.”
Sixteen years later, Mangum has a different story to tell.
“I don’t have any regrets,” she told DePasquale. “Everything happens to get everybody to the point where they are and it’s all to show God’s love and His forgiveness, His grace and His mercy.”
And that’s the kicker right there. Crystal says she’s sorry. Yet turns around and has ZERO REGRETS for eighteen years worth of lies. Look, if someone is sincerely sorry for something they did, they’d also have regrets over the consequences of their actions. This does not look to be the case here.
As Ed Morrissey over at HotAir points out, Mangum is nearing the end of her prison term. Is she truly remorseful, or is she playing the long game again?
"Crystal Mangum’s fabricated allegations didn’t just shatter the lives of the Duke Lacrosse players—she weaponized the justice system, emboldened mob mentality, and tarnished the integrity of real victims' voices. Eighteen years too late for the truth, but accountability? Nowhere…

Crystal Mangum is supposedly sorry for her lies that torpedoed the college and lacrosse careers of three young men. Yet regrets she has none. Speaks volumes doesn’t it?

“She wants her brothers in Christ to forgive her.”
Or is she setting up for when she gets out of gaol and can earn some more attention [and $$$$] going on talk shows demonstrating her ‘virtue’?
The Duke Gang of 88 (the Professors, Administrators, etc.) who vilified the Duke LaCrosse players have all decided that after 18 years of living the lie that they will now issue individual and group apologies for the harms and injustices they caused —
Yea! . . . . Right!
