If you are planning on visiting another country for work or business in the future, you have got to have an exit strategy. An exit strategy that doesn’t involve the United States Embassy. Turns out when the world goes pear-shaped, the schmucks who breathe air in our State Department are worse than usual. Fortunately, we have people who possess superb skills in extraction and don’t stand around looking stupid. Man like Freshman Congressman Cory Mills
I was talking with a Pastor’s wife this morning. Her best friend was in Israel last week when the attack happened. All flights were cancelled and tickets to Germany cost her $12,000 to get five people to Germany. It cannot possibly be easy to get out of a country that is at war especially when everyone of the diplomats in your own country couldn’t find their backsides with both hands tied behind their backs. And what’s worse, is that they don’t care.

Men and women have stepped when the Biden Administration blunders. Sarah Verardo, Tim Kennedy, Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer, Chad Robichaux and Congressman Cory Mills just to name a few. In Afghanistan and everyone saw how bad that was, in Ukraine when journalist Benjamin Hall was blown up, and now after the pogrom-like attack on Israel, Americans will skills, brains and a digital rolodex have saved Americans and our allies.
Mills has skills. After college, he served in the Army with the 82nd Airborne, but I cannot tell if he was actually Airborne or not. After his deployment to Iraq, he left the military and went into private security, where, I am sure, he acquired more skills before his election to Congress in November, 2023.
When he did a rescue mission to Afghanistan, the State Department tried to claim credit. Unbelievable:
“But those actually involved in the dangerous rescue operation say the State Department deserves little to no credit for Mariam’s escape from Afghanistan,” Fox News reported.
“Cory Mills and a private team of military veterans, drawing on funding by private donors including the Sentinel Foundation, led the effort to rescue Mariam and her three children from Afghanistan, where they had been left behind by the Biden administration, multiple sources with knowledge of Mariam’s evacuation confirmed to Fox News,” the outlet reported.
Mills had been alerted to the family’s struggles by Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX).
Classic. Congressman Mills has stepped up again. From Knewz:
Florida Republican Congressman Cory Mills flew to Israel and helped rescue 32 Americans trapped in the aftermath of the massacre unleashed by Hamas.
An Iraq war veteran, Mills has not shared details of his mission due to operational concerns and constraints, but Knewz.com has learned that he’s not finished getting people home from the war-torn country.
Representative Mills, who served with the 82nd Airborne Division while deployed in Iraq, decided to go to Israel himself after he alleged the Biden administration didn’t have on-the-ground plans to bring U.S. citizens home.
He told Fox News that when some Americans purportedly were unable to get substantive assistance from the U.S. bureaucracy, he felt it necessary to step in.
“I went in and was very thankful to be able to get — for the second time, by the way, I’ll just add — helping the Biden administration, who has failed to do their job… [The] first time I did it was in 2021 where I conducted the very first successful rescue of Americans,” Mills told Fox News.

Hate_me says: There is very little info available on Mills’ actual time in uniform. Given the low bar for honesty amongst politicians, I’m not quick to buy any claims he makes about heroic rescues. I genuinely hope my suspicions are unfounded, but…
For what it’s worth, a Bronze Star (w/o a V) was the standard end-of-tour award for every junior officer and E-7+ enlistee throughout the majority of the GWOT, no matter what they accomplished. It means nothing other than they didn’t piss off the wrong people.
Cameron says: Nah. Being skeptical is a good thing on this. Especially when you can’t find much information beyond “he served.” But the fact he was in puts him ahead of most Congresscritters.
Liz says: I don’t know anything about his record, but if he personally flew down to the ME and rescued Americans that says a lot to me.
Think the only people in a position to criticize are folks who have done the same.

A beautiful thing about our first amendment is that everyone, no matter their personal experiences, is “in a position to criticize….”
If he legitimately did what he claims, he’s a goddamned hero, mea maxima culpa and I’ll gladly support/join any such future efforts – but until I see any real evidence, I’m skeptical.

I don’t know who this guy is. I know for certain Tim Kennedy is legit. He saved a lot of people in Afghanistan.
Scott says: Well, there’s no question that the State Department is fornicating Fido once again.. Certainly seems Mills in involved in these evacs, as are many others, some of which are named above.. Way past time to clean house, and get rid of those not willing or able to do their jobs, elected or otherwise.. drain the damn swamp already
