Well, it actually happened. Now we know that CNN really doesn’t care that it’s no longer a serious news network. Today, they actually decided to go full Resistance and file a lawsuit against the Trump Administration, because they believe Jim Acosta is their precious and must be protected – or something.
CNN seems to have believed their own spin about the First Amendment, and are claiming that Acosta HAS to be allowed back in the White House briefing room, because… freedom of the press and due process? Really???
This morning, CNN filed a lawsuit against @realDonaldTrump and top aides. The White House has violated CNN and @Acosta's First Amendment rights of freedom of the press and Fifth Amendment rights to due process. Complaint: https://t.co/43oX6L8xA7 pic.twitter.com/RvJ0Cgh6oi

And the list of people being named in the lawsuit is… long. All this for Jim Acosta? Really?
The lawsuit is a response to the White House’s suspension of Acosta’s press pass, known as a Secret Service “hard pass,” last week. The suit alleges that Acosta and CNN’s First and Fifth Amendment rights are being violated by the ban.
The suit was filed in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday morning. It was docketed and assigned to Judge Timothy J. Kelly, a Trump appointee. CNN is seeking a preliminary hearing as soon as possible.
Both CNN and Acosta are plaintiffs in the lawsuit. There are six defendants: Trump, chief of staff John Kelly, press secretary Sarah Sanders, deputy chief of staff for communications Bill Shine, Secret Service director Randolph Alles, and the Secret Service officer who took Acosta’s hard pass away last Wednesday.
The six defendants are all named because of their roles in enforcing and announcing Acosta’s suspension.
“This is not a step we have taken lightly. But the White House action is unprecedented,” CNN Worldwide president Jeff Zucker said in an internal memo to staff.
CNN, you have lost all sense of proportion. Fortunately, Sarah Sanders has the perfect response: Jim Acosta, you’re just not that special.

Again, CNN has not been denied access to the White House. Jim Acosta has been denied the opportunity to grandstand and be a jerk. But apparently, Jim Acosta IS now CNN. This is the hill they want to die on? Really? Even Bob Woodward thinks you’re idiots, because you just fell into Trump’s narrative trap!
+ WOODWARD on CNN lawsuit: “This is a negative … Trump is sitting around saying, ‘This is great.” … “When we engage in [Trump’s strategy] we’re taking his bait.”

And here’s a novel idea…
+ WOODWARD: “The remedy [isn’t a lawsuit], it’s more serious reporting about what he’s doing.”

DING DING DING! Instead of letting Acosta make a fool out of himself every chance he gets to preen in front of a camera, why not get a REAL REPORTER in there to do some REAL REPORTING??
Oh wait. This is CNN. They’ve given up on being a real news network. It’s official – they are now The Jim Acosta Snowflake Channel. This lawsuit is likely to go nowhere, and CNN continues to prove Donald Trump right. With this lawsuit, CNN has proven that they no longer possess the capacity to be a serious news network, and are nothing more than an anti-Donald Trump, pro-Jim Acosta TV show.

But the White House action is unprecedented,
No, actually, it is NOT. As a matter of fact, I’m betting that somewhere in the paperwork Acosta signed to get his badge, it said something like “This badge is the property of the White House and will be surrendered immediately at the request of White House personnel or the Secret Service.”
White House now saying
Actually, that’s what they’ve said all along.
REAL REPORTING??
That would require knowing what “real reporting” IS. They’ve become fully propagandized into thinking they are about saving the world, and that means advancing the progressive movement. Like the political class, they are now our new messiahs.
Television didn’t even exist when the 1st amendment was written, so how could it protect CNN and Jim Acosta’s right to broadcast from the White House? This is what they believe regarding the 2nd amendment, isn’t it?
How long until CNN starts boiling bunnies?
I don’t mind if CNN decides this is the hill to die on. Any old hill will do. But this one will take incoming fire.
