Today, closing arguments begin in Daniel Penny’s trial in New York City. A verdict could be delivered before the end of the week. Will it cause problems either way?
Closing arguments will take place Monday in Daniel Penny’s subway chokehold death trial in New York City. Afterward, a jury of 12 Manhattanites will deliberate his fate.
Penny, 26, is facing charges of second-degree manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide in the death of 30-year-old Jordan Neely, a homeless New Yorker. I am getting George Floyd vibes from this trial so much right now. Remember, George Floyd died during the last few months of Trump’s Presidency, and then tons of riots broke out because of Floyd’s death. Police officer Derek Chauvin is now serving 22 1/2 years in prison on second-degree murder charges.
Now, Daniel Penny’s trial in New York City ends right before Donald Trump takes office for the second time.
The city that never sleeps is notorious for not liking Trump and attempting to throw all the crimes at him, hoping one sticks. This makes me worry for Daniel Penny, too.
So, should we be worried about the outcome of the Daniel Penny trial?
Watch
The forensic pathologist said the chokehold alone did not kill Jordan Neely, his blood condition, synthetic Marijuana, schizophrenia, exertion is what killed Neely

While Daniel Penny wasn’t an active-duty cop, he was a Marine. We know how liberals feel about servicemen, especially white ones.
Are the jurors in Penny’s trial the same New Yorkers who found Donald Trump guilty? I don’t mean the exact same people. No, I am talking about their political leanings or proclivity to be indoctrinated by the woke collective.
Or are they the hard-working Americans living in NYC who are just trying to make a living by working hard and loving their families and who do not feel safe in their communities anymore?
New York doesn’t allow cameras in the courtroom, but this video from Court TV, released just days ago, provides a good update on what’s happening.
The host of this video seems biased against Penny. It is misleading that they kept showing Neely in his Michael Jackson costume dancing innocently on the subway.
Daniel Penny could face up to 15 years in prison if found guilty of manslaughter.
Prosecutors have argued Penny, who is White, showed indifference and acted with disregard by holding Neely, who is Black, in the chokehold for an excessive amount of time.
Defense attorneys focused on Penny’s character, presenting a string of witnesses from his childhood and time in the Marines, and then challenged the medical examiner’s ruling that Neely’s death was caused by the chokehold. – CNN
If Daniel Penny is found not guilty, will there be riots in NYC? Probably not. I mean, Derek Chauvin was found guilty of George Floyd’s death, and Minneapolis still burned.
Yes, I know the two situations and trials are different. I also know that riots broke out before Derek Chauvin’s trial.
Soon, Daniel Penny’s future will be in the jurors’ hands.
The Federalist makes a good point with a recent article titled “The prosecution of Daniel Penny fits a pattern that the Soviet-era Russian writer Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn would have recognized and detailed.” [LINK] That is a long title, but it is worth reading the article. Thought-provoking, for sure.
Recently, I was a guest on a podcast where we discussed conservative men and dads remaining quiet on transgender issues, and we wondered why. No one advocates violent pushback, but a protest and a voice from the men would be nice. And not just from men, from everyone. But is everyone afraid? I think about the J6 prisoners in DC right now, too.
Republicans and conservatives are not known for their activism, that’s for sure. But I wonder, with more and more citizens being put on trial for defending themselves or for protecting others, if this is setting a new precedent for self-censorship and minding your own damn business, as Tim Walz would say.
I realize that activism and self-defense are two totally different things, but I also think activism is a form of defense. Right?
But I digress.
My gut is telling me that the jury will find Daniel Penny guilty. It may be for the lesser charge he is facing, the criminally negligent homicide, which I think Penny could be sentenced to four years in prison.
There will be an outcome, possibly before the week is out. Whatever that outcome is, I hope men will continue to step in to help others. Prayers go out for everyone involved in the Penny trial.

What they are doing is tamping down the powder in the keg. A great number of men are quietly seething at the awful things the Progressives have done and still desire to do. Both, to our children and loved ones and to the country.
We’re not showing up at rallies. We’re not protesting, for the most part. But the fuse is getting closer to the keg. When, all of a sudden, lots of men show up to “rallies” and “protests” they won’t be there to quietly change things. There will be decorated lampposts. There will be Ceausescus. You really don’t want to push American men there.
Daniel Penny vandalized Democrat property. Not only that, he had the audacity to try and make things nice in a blue enclave. Even if he’s found not guilty, he will never be allowed a moment of peace.
