Two weeks ago Iryna Zrutska, a young immigrant from Ukraine, was brutally murdered in Charlotte, North Carolina. The mayor of that city, Vi Lyles, wants us to stop noticing that Iryna was murdered.
If it weren’t for a local tv station, no one across the country would have any idea about this murder, nor how brutal it was.
Video footage released Friday shows the moments leading up to and following the deadly August stabbing of a woman on the Charlotte light rail.
WBTV on Friday, Sept. 5 obtained surveillance video of a deadly stabbing that happened two weeks earlier on the Lynx Blue Line light rail system in Charlotte, North Carolina. You can watch our edit of that video below.
At around 9:50 p.m. on Aug. 22, a light rail passenger stabbed Iryna Zarutska, 23, several times. Officials said she was stabbed in the throat at least one time. Zarutska was pronounced dead on the light rail.
Decarlos Brown Jr., 34, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with Zarutska’s killing. Brown was ordered last week to remain in jail and undergo a competency evaluation.

Iryna Zarutska, who fled war-torn Ukraine for a safer life in America, was on the Lynx Blue Line just before 10 p.m. Aug. 22 when she was ambushed, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
The surveillance footage, released Friday by the Charlotte Area Transit System or CATS, shows Zarutska boarding the train in her pizzeria uniform at 9:46 p.m. and sitting, looking at her phone, unaware of the danger behind her.
Just four minutes later, 34-year-old Decarlos Brown Jr. allegedly whips out a folding knife and lunges forward, stabbing her three times, at least once in the neck, police said.
The chilling video then appears to show Brown then walking through the rail car, stripping off his sweatshirt and waiting by the doors — as passengers began to notice blood dripping from him.
Zarutska, who grabbed her neck as blood spilled onto the train floor, collapsed in her seat and was pronounced dead on the light rail, investigators said.
It took TWO weeks for the details of this attack to get publicized in Charlotte let alone across the country. Oh sure, local police are calling this a “random attack.” But did anyone even THINK to post warnings to those who ride the commuter trains around the city? NO. The safety of the public wasn’t as important as burying the story was.
In fact, the vast majority of the media are refusing to covering this horrific story.

The liberal/Democrat media establishment is all in on providing cover for illegal alien criminals and hyping the protest marches in D.C. where evidently the paid protestors WANT high crime to continue.
What is even worse, is the reaction of the Vi Lyles, the Mayor of Charlotte, North Carolina about this.
The video of the heartbreaking attack that took Iryna Zarutska’s life is now public. I want to thank our media partners and community members who have chosen not to repost or share the footage out of respect for Iryna’s family.
This was a senseless and tragic loss. My prayers remain with her loved ones as they continue to grieve through an unimaginable time.
Like so many of you, I’m heartbroken — and I’ve been thinking hard about what safety really looks like in our city. I remain committed to doing all we can to protect our residents and ensure Charlotte is a place where everyone feels safe.
In other words, she’s super sorry that Iryna was murdered, but doesn’t want anyone to be talking about this let alone share the video highlighting how brutal the attack on her was.
As for her absolutely asinine comment about “thinking hard about what safety really looks like in our city.” I wanted to break everything and said a few things I can’t print here. The video of Iryna’s attack is hard to watch.
You know what Vi? Safety absolutely looks like keeping dangerous people like Decarlos Brown Jr., OFF the streets from the outset. He was given 2nd, 3rd, and 50th chances from what we are now finding out.
She ran from war in Ukraine. She came here for safety.

And America FAILED her.

That is NOT what safety looks like you progressive clod.
In fact, it took her over TWO WEEKS to actually address Iryna by her name. Last Tuesday, this was her statement.
“We will never arrest our way out of issues such as homelessness and mental health,” Lyles said. “Mental health disease is just that — a disease like any other that needs to be treated with the same compassion, diligence and commitment as cancer or heart disease.”
Lyles added that people living on the streets are more often the victims of crime than the perpetrators, and said she is committed to working with county officials, health care providers and community leaders to improve services.
What utterly infuriating horseshit. Iryna is the victim. NOT Brown. Her entire statement on Tuesday was hearts and flowers for Brown while subtly castigating people for daring to be more concerned about Iryna!
This is the last line of her statement:
We, as a community, must do better for those members of our community who need help and have no place to go.
The Mayor of Charlotte exhibited ZERO concern for a young woman, who escaped Ukraine for a better life in the U.S. Absolutely no concern for a young woman brutally murdered.
Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyle’s is a classic exhibit of today’s progressive liberal asshat who chooses to coddle the criminals and blame the victims.
Vi’s statement and clips of the attack on Iryna should be Republican ads on repeat EVERYWHERE.
Iryna Zarutska deserves much better. As do all of us.

It’s because she’s black and it took her two weeks to say anything because she couldn’t blame Trump.
Iryna did almost all the right things… tucked her long hair up under her baseball cap, dressed like a boy, and kept to herself. Had she chosen to sit elsewhere with others, she might have survived. But this isn’t a Third World country, or is it?

The two dead lads were not known to have any criminal associations.
Our State premier [of the far Left] is the one who ordered a ban on machetes starting September 1st. Obviously criminals don’t obey the Law and are keeping their weaponry. She is also the one who a year or so ago, ordered that bail terms be softened for youth offenders so that it has been common to hear of youth gangs committing crimes, especially armed home invasions to steal cars, members having been bailed for previous crimes multiple times. Home owners have been cautioned by the Premier that they must not cause harm to said young thugs if and when they encounter them in their homes as homeowners will be prosecuted for assault if they do resist and cause harm to the poor, misunderstood offenders.

NTSOG says: I’m a licensed firearms owner and shoot several times a week on my farm. Often one of my rifles is out of the gun safe because I have been out hunting or will be hunting. If an intruder came into my home and I was to get my rifle and point it at him even unloaded it is likely I would be prosecuted unless I could prove he was also armed and presenting a real and immediate threat to me. The woke left either choose to ignore criminals attacking others or excuse such criminal behaviour because said criminals are poor or disadvantaged and deserve consideration. Apparently law abiding people do not deserve support.
