There are two major developments in the Israel-Hamas war that should end the ceasefire. If it does not, then it will be because Israel is holding themselves back for the sake of possibly holding more hostages, and not because Hamas hasn’t broken the ceasefire in multiple ways.
A ceasefire extention was announced yesterday, because Hamas is determined to meet the minimum in order to string this entire process along. There are currently two more hostages being transferred over right now, with more to follow later today. However, one of the very open questions has been the location of the Bibas family, especially the fate of 4 year old Ariel and now 10 month old Kfir.
The Bibas family, including 10-months-old Kfir, 4-year-old Ariel and their mother Shiri were abducted by Hamas on October 7.

Kim’s post here can give you the background on these babies, but Hamas initially said that the mother and children had been moved to southern Gaza, and that they had been handed over (or sold) to a different terrorist group. As pressure grew to account for them, the Quds News Network (a Hamas mouthpiece) announced that the Bibas family had been “killed.” Considering what happened the last time we were told a hostage had died, skepticism is warranted.
After reportedly selling the Bibas family (including 10 month old baby Kfir) to another faction in Gaza, Hamas now claims they have been killed.

However, there are now reports that along with today’s hostages, three bodies will be handed over from Hamas – and the rumor mill is saying that the bodies will be of Shiri, Ariel, and Kfir Bibas.
This will get bad. https://t.co/SyuXnYkIie

Now, we have obviously seen Hamas play these psychological games regarding the status of the hostages before. They could be handing over three completely different bodies. They might change their minds on handing over any bodies at all. But if the reports are true (Hamas claimed that the Bibas family died in an Israeli airstrike… except that there has been a ceasefire with no airstrikes, remember?), then I don’t know how the ceasefire can continue. If the Bibas family is dead, then it is because of Hamas. Again, we have to take any report coming out from Hamas with a whole lot of salt. Regardless, if bodies are handed over today, someone’s heart is going to be shattered. It’s simply another form of psychological torment for the families to have to wait.
If the Bibas family is dead, the ceasefire is likely over. I don’t know how the Israeli public will not demand an end to this farce of peace.
If the Bibas family is still alive, the ceasefire might hold, but it is close to shattering for a different reason altogether. There was a mass shooting at a bus stop in Jerusalem today – and Hamas is claiming credit for the attack.
According to Israeli police, the shooting was carried out by two Hamas terrorists who drove to the Givat Shaul junction on the outskirts of the Holy City in an armed vehicle and opened fire on unsuspecting victims standing there. Police responded to the bus stop at around 7:40 a.m. local time.
The three deceased victims of the shooting attack in Jerusalem were identified as 73-year-old Rabbi Elimelech Wasserman, 67-year-old Hana Ifergan, and 24-year-old Livia Dickman.
Israeli police said the two shooters, who were from east Jerusalem, were shot and killed by Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers in the area… Israeli media said the shooters were brothers and associated with Hamas.
“The initial investigation indicates that the terrorists arrived to the scene by car in the morning, armed with an M-16 rifle and a handgun,” a Jerusalem District Police spokesperson said. “At a certain point, the terrorists began shooting at civilians before subsequently being killed at the scene. A police search of the terrorists’ car revealed ammunition and weaponry.”
No country would stand for civilians being gunned down at a bus stop while a “ceasefire” is supposedly in effect. If the bus stop shooting doesn’t break the ceasefire – which has always been an exchange for lives now for deaths later – then learning that the Bibas family is dead would likely be the straw that breaks that camel’s back.
The shooting today in Jerusalem should also serve as a harsh slap in the face to the radical left who was insisting on a ceasefire. Hamas has no interest in peace. They are interested in three things: wiping Israel off the map, killing as many Jews as possible, and dying as a “martyr” for the “cause.” And they are making that very clear.

Someone tell useful idiot Medea Benjamin, who tried cornering Senator Marco Rubio yesterday. The Senate screened the horrific Hamas footage on Tuesday, and Rubio was clearly having none of her rhetorical shenanigans after that.
"I want them to destroy every element of Hamas they can get their hands on."

Good for Senator Rubio. After all that we have seen and heard, anyone calling for a ceasefire in the face of all that has happened is simply asking Israel to roll over and die. Screw that, and any fool asking for it. No country, with its citizens being gunned down in the street and with its babies possibly being murdered in captivity, would stand passively by. Peace with Hamas is not possible because HAMAS DOESN’T WANT IT. The ceasefire is likely over, but watch the media attempt to blame Israel for breaking it, because that is what they do.
This post will be updated once the hostage return that is in progress is completed, and we learn if any bodies have been returned and identified.
UPDATE 12:30 PM PST
This is just sickening.
These animals executed a woman and her babies and are now torturing her husband and using him to create a Sophie's Choice for Israel so they can survive to do it again. We will never forgive or forget those who defended these animals or cast doubt on the pure evil they manifest. https://t.co/Cpy2V4IAp9

There is currently no further confirmation on Shiri, Ariel, and Kfir, and this video cannot be taken as proof of their death. All it proves is that Hamas is evil.

Israel need to shell / bomb Gaza until it’s nothing but rubble, then continue till the rubble bounces.. Nothing else will end this conflict.
Good for Senator Rubio.
Hey, your web server is doing it again.
If the Bibas family is dead, then it is because of Hamas.
Ah, but you see, that would be some other terrorist group’s fault now, since they were “handed over” to someone. It’s an idiotic claim, but the games these people play are never really that sophisticated. They don’t have to be for Progressives to believe them.
Mr. B,
The ultimate fault will always fall on Hamas. They scooted over to Israel on the 7th, killed a bunch of people, took some more hostage, and the called for a cease fire all the while raining rockets and bombs on Israel.
More on the hostage taking: I’ll finally say this out loud, ONLY COWARDS TAKE HOSTAGES!!!
Also another thing about Hamas, cowards also cover their faces with masks so no one will know they are the bad guys on a nice sunny day stroll about the wreckage.
Israel is trading convicted criminals and terrorists for hostages. Israel has no hostages, only Hamas.
The ultimate fault will always fall on Hamas.
I would rather say the fault falls on the Gazans. Hamas is just one label for the people who desire the extermination of Israel, and there are second string groups out there, too. I think trying to get people to play the whack-a-mole with the different groups is part of why they made that claim. Anyone with a critical eye can see how dumb that is, but vast portions of the West don’t even know what a “critical eye” is.
Now that the ceasefire is broken by Hamas’ own admission, I hope Israel finally does what it should have done long ago.
Can you say “Arc Light”??? Or whatever the Israeli version would be called…
the two shooters … were shot and killed by Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers
So, the arming of the populace hasn’t really taken hold, yet, huh? They should have been shot by one of those people at the bus stop. Stop messing around people! Yes, even you, 73yo rabbi! You should know Psalm 144:1.
The shooting today in Jerusalem
They could have said, “Oh no, that’s some people we don’t know. That’s terrible, but it isn’t us. Just some other people inspired by the evil of the Joos!” And all of the Progressives would just nod and say, “See! It isn’t Hamas’ fault! You should maintain the ceasefire!” But they didn’t care to even do that. No, they claimed it. Oft evil will shall evil mar.
You know the only thing I changed on that one? I replaced one regular apostrophe after Hamas with another regular (not curly) apostrophe. And I changed it from the correct word to “Joos”. It accepted it after those two changes.
It won’t let me post the last comment.
