When President Obama was recorded at a private meeting expressing his disgust with conservatives who bitterly cling to their Bibles and Guns, Democrats nodded and stroked their collect chin.
Observant Christians and Jews have long confounded the Left. They don’t get people for whom belief is more than a one hour per week obligation. For them, religion is a shiny bauble. One heads to church or temple on a major holiday. It’s a chance to look good in front of the neighbors. They offer “thoughts and prayers” when faced with tragedy and little more. The rest of the year they’ll mock the religious, poke each other in the ribs with a wink-wink, nudge-nudge, and tell each other how smart they are.
A clearly exasperated Tom Perez just can’t figure it out.
Leftists are like the caricature of the Ugly American tourist who believes the native will understand him if he speaks English slower and louder. Perez doesn’t understand, or doesn’t want to understand, that it’s the Democrat message faith-involved people reject. The Left has substituted The State for God and their message is one of “turn your life over to us and you’ll be taken care of.” It’s a message libertarians and conservatives reject.
We don’t reject it because we won’t listen. We reject it because it is anti-Western and un-American.
Take care of your own pulpit, Tom. Preach to your own choir. And stop projecting your inadequacies on people you refuse to consider as full human beings.

They refuse to grasp what so many know, and others feel instinctually: that they ARE a religion, themselves.
Christianity is competition.

I want to hear more about WHO is dividing the country, and WHO is inciting the violence.
I want to hear more about how “we” need to respond to columns of foreign “thinking” folk entering into the Democratically elected Republic, promoting Death By a Thousand Paper Cuts.

In addition to the philosophical grounds, we reject it because, in every place it’s been tried, and whether the people thus subjugated are white, brown, yellow, or purple with little green antennae, it has resulted in poverty, pestilence, consumption of pets for food, and mass graves.
And camps. There always are camps.

But I appreciate Western Civilization, the rule of law, and the Bill of Rights. So I’m pretty much *not allowed* to be a Democrat.

Progressive thought process:
“How about mandating social media use? You MUST post weekly and you must spend x amount of time per day/week/whatever reading the state approved narrative. Acceptable postings include who you associate with, what meetings you attend, and life details like car you drive, daily routine, and how you voted last election.
Lets see, we have the technology to track that, and we could make the penalties escalate from reeducation classes for first offenders, to imprisonment for the really deplorable.
That might overrun our prisons, though. And it would expose a major Democrat voting bloc, criminals, to conservatism and free thought. Hmmm…
Hey! We have all those nifty FEMA camps! We can send them there!”
