Yesterday the mob was after Vivek Ramaswamy, as our Nina told you. Alas, they are not done, but today they focused on MAGA buddy Elon Musk and the name Tesla. I got some BAD news for those who think that MAGA fought for eight years so we could lay on our backs and get belly rubs. WRONG. To paraphrase John Paul Jones, “We have not yet begun to fight.” This is a necessary fight.
Nina focused on Vivek and that 90’s fakakta idea of the participation trophy that inculcated our children with the idea that they win because they exist. Immigrants, on the other hand, must work hard and take nothing for granted. Not that that is universally true. We still raise the best airborne soldiers (AATW) and other geniuses, in my opinion. And the immigrants that come here illegally sure take advantage of our generosity and hospitality. The argument today from the mob was about H-1B visas. Lord help me, Jesus.
According to the U.S. Department of Labor, regarding the H1B visa:
The H-1B program applies to employers seeking to hire nonimmigrant aliens as workers in specialty occupations or as fashion models of distinguished merit and ability. A specialty occupation is one that requires the application of a body of highly specialized knowledge and the attainment of at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent. The intent of the H-1B provisions is to help employers who cannot otherwise obtain needed business skills and abilities from the U.S. workforce by authorizing the temporary employment of qualified individuals who are not otherwise authorized to work in the United States.
The law establishes certain standards in order to protect similarly employed U.S. workers from being adversely affected by the employment of the nonimmigrant workers, as well as to protect the H-1B nonimmigrant workers. Employers must attest to the Department of Labor that they will pay wages to the H-1B nonimmigrant workers that are at least equal to the actual wage paid by the employer to other workers with similar experience and qualifications for the job in question, or the prevailing wage for the occupation in the area of intended employment – whichever is greater.
These are not the migrant workers to pick Democrats avocados. That is the H-2A program. It seems to me maybe the education system should talk to employers about opportunities in different disciplines. Even the New York Post misunderstands the dilemma.
H-1B visas are for non-immigrant workers. Talking about immigration is entirely different. Oh, well. If it starts a fight, the mob doesn’t care. Did you notice the Three Weird Sisters from Macbeth in that video? Laura Loomer, Nikki Haley and Ann Coulter. Loomer, super weird sister, thinks Trump could be impeached over Musk. From the Daily Express:
Right-wing activist Laura Loomer has warned Donald Trump that he could be impeached if he allows tech billionaire Elon Musk to continue influencing future policy decisions, amid an online debate about visas for foreign workers.
Loomer and other conservative commenters claimed on Thursday that they were stripped of their verification badges on X after they criticized Musk’s support of H-1B visas for highly skilled foreign workers.
Yes, suspended for twelve hours. Loomer has long been a problem. She actually chained herself to the, then, Twitter offices in 2018.
There is more than the Three Weird Sisters in this mob action. No, this argument goes to Elon didn’t start Tesla and he didn’t name Tesla and Elon is a White, European male:
Cry more, cry harder. These people are picky, picky. Elon has a double degree from U. Penn in physics and economics. Tesla was incorporated by Eberhard and Tarpenning in July of 2003. They got Musk’s venture capital funds in January of 2004. I am sure Tarpenning and Eberhard told Musk why they named Tesla, Tesla. The court ruled they are all founders so “We” named Tesla is legally correct. Now, shut your yaps.
This is becoming a distraction and it was once an interesting debate. I like Scott Adams take on this:
The foreign workers debate on X has been great.
We fight. We learn something. We correct course. Trump watches and absorbs.
And we did it by entertaining ourselves and getting smarter at the same time.

Exactly, as Johann Fichte wrote: “Thesis, antithesis, synthesis.” Trump rolls this all around in his giant brain and talks to his advisors, including Elon and Vivek, and answers come. The mob can go away. We fought too hard for this.
By the way, if you are ever up in Annapolis, go see John Paul Jones crypt at the Naval Academy underneath the chapel.

The attack on Elon and Vivek was predictable. The. MAGAverse treats everyone including Trump as their own little NPC, someone whose views are 100% in sync with their’s inevitably, they find out that the object of their worship will depart from the “right” path and worshipper will turn on them. The MAGAverse is just a mirror image of the Wokiverse.
The irony of the day is that the racist Laura Loomer, after being banned from Go Fund Me and other monetizing apps, has turned to Go Buy Me a Coffee for financial sustenance.
Go Buy Me a Coffee was developed by two Indian immigrants.
And … Trump is siding with Musk and the visas.
May I submit a differing view? The high-tech companies I have worked for pay H1-Bs less than they pay Americans. The networking company that rhymes with Crisco had buildings in the Valley full of H1-Bs from China and India while they were laying off Americans. I am willing to expand H1-Bs if we vet them to get the Top 1% that Elon mentions. But, in the words of Ace from Ace of Spades, “If these H-1B’s are really “super-talented” and “indispensable,” then surely you’re offering them $150,000+ salaries. If you’re only offering $70,000, then you’re not recruiting “super-talented,” “indispensable” workers. You’re merely hiring middling workers at a discount.” As Mark Krikorian says, “The lack of wage growth in science, technology, engineering, and math occupations is a strong indication there is no STEM labor shortage.” Further, according to http://H1BPay.com, Facebook pays its software engineers in Menlo Park, on average, US $138,294…However, Smartorg pays software engineers on H-1B visas in Menlo Park only $80,000 annually. Let’s reform the system before expanding it so we do not do to our tech workers what we did to auto and steel workers.
