Just when you think it cannot get any worse, right. Our Deanna told you this morning about the hold-outs for the Speaker of the House vote this early afternoon. They are all clowns, each and every one. As they were speechifying, both sides, my Husband looked over at me and said these people need their egos surgically removed. There are hostages being held in the Middle East and these people are playing “Rock, Paper, Scissors”.
While there are those who are training just in case they get called to rescue the hostages, the fools in D.C. are putting on a clown show. I have no doubt that people are analyzing drone footage and satellite pictures looking for information about each hostage. Special operators are gaming out rescue situations.
The New York Times today reported:
In the dense warrens of Gaza, Hamas is believed to hold at least 199 people hostage, guarded by gunmen and booby traps, likely scattered and hidden from any would-be rescuers as Israel readies a ground invasion.
Israeli and U.S. commandos have pulled off extraordinary hostage rescues before. But the chaotic environment of Gaza, which is descending into a humanitarian crisis and the base where Hamas launched devastating attacks on Israel this month, has made such a mission unlikely because of the dangers to hostages and soldiers alike.
That has left desperate, complex diplomacy — led by the United States and Qatar, a tiny nation with extensive ties to militant groups — as the best option to save hostages in the eyes of many current and former officials.
In the talks so far, Qatar is acting as a mediator between Hamas and officials from the United States, which like Israel and the European Union considers Hamas a terrorist group. Adding even more complexity to the talks, there are people from more than 30 countries among the hostages.
Of the approximately 200 hostages taken, only one video has been released. A beautiful French-Israeli woman by the name of Mia Schem who was at the music festival:
Mia Schem was called the “light of the family” by her Mother. I am sure the families of the other nearly 200 feel the same way. There are thirteen Americans being held.
While Mia’s Mother pleads for her release, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez natters on about the injustice of collective punishment. So stupid:

Like any of us care how many commands someone has held when the Republican Conference is a Clown Show. And, we see what the very top commanders are like. Useless.
Get your shit together, Republican Congressweenies. Pick a new Speaker. It doesn’t matter who it is for the time being. The country is on fire. Make sure Special Operations Command has everything they need.
GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER. BRING THE HOSTAGES HOME.

I am praying that no “rescue mission” is mounted. Because with Moronic Milley “in charge,” it will just result in the hostages and a lot of good soldiers killed for no good result. A worse national humiliation than Carter’s desperate Hail Mary.
It DOES matter who is Speaker, though. We need one that will push the impeachments through – and, if the Junta does go ahead and make a disastrous move, be VERY focused on getting rid of this illegal Administration.
Bucky says: If a rescue mission fails the Left will blame Sen Tuberville for holding up the confirmation of military chiefs, because we know that the rank and file can’t do anything unless micro managed by the Pentagon.
BJ says: The problem is the Speaker needs to be a builder: someone who can forge alliances, advance legislation, count votes, etc. It’s much easier to be a bomb thrower, to say outrageous things, yell at witnesses, declare war against the opposition party, etc. The bomb throwers get attention, tweets, donations, etc. The builders seldom if ever make headlines, but slowly but surely, they get things done.
Unfortunately, this time around, the only ones volunteering to be Speaker are bomb throwers.
“…who can advance legislation…” What kind of “legislation,” pray tell? Another continuing resolution? Another omnibus bill? Another debt limit increase?
NONE of the legislation that is needed will ever advance through the Democrat Senate, or the Usurper Desk in the White House.
No, we DO need a bomb thrower, one who will push the correct bills through the House – and then make absolutely sure that they go off in the faces of the Democrats who kill them.
BJ says: It’s kinda hard to accomplish anything when most of the House hates you. Who’s going to vote for the impeachments? The Democrats? Certainly not. The GOP? They only have a four seat majority, and 12 of them represent districts that Joe Biden carried.
Even if, by some miracle, an impeachment made it through the House, the Senate would toss it like a hot potato. After all, the Presidential election is next year, so President Biden may lose the WH anyway regardless of what Congress does or doesn’t do. The GOP has an unusually favorable map next year, so the GOP Senators have no interest in rocking the boat, and neither do at least 12 GOP Reps.
So how is impeachment going to happen?
