Last night, the Congressional Republicans finally made good on one of their promises and impeached Alejandro Mayorkas. Second time was a charm, the first vote failed, and there was only a one vote margin, 214-213. But, what are you going to do when you are the feckless, hapless Republicans. They find rakes to smack into their heads on marble floors. It’s a pity the bar is high crimes and misdemeanors with this Administration. Incompetence is not a crime, unfortunately.

I admire the Democrats so much. Alejandro Mayorkas never had to worry his cue ball little head. As long as he was a loyal and obedient soldier who served his purpose, he was going to be protected. Mayorkas was Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security for Barack Obama and now the Secretary in the Biden Administration. He has carried on as a loyal foot soldier. The box-checking Dems are thrilled to have a Cuban-born immigrant head DHS:

We have no competent immigration policy but if your idea of compassionate is “Ollie, Ollie Oxen Free”, Mayorkas is rocking it. I laugh every time people complain about Trump demanding loyalty. Heck, he’s a piker. Omerta is the ultimate moral code for Democrats. No matter what crime Democrats commit, the Party stays loyal:

After the 214-213 vote to impeach, Chuck Schumer, the Democratic Senate majority leader, set out what will happen next. House managers will present the articles of impeachment after Monday’s President’s Day holiday. Senators will be sworn in as jurors. And Patty Murray of Washington state, the Democratic Senate president pro tempore, will preside thereafter.

Schumer also issued a stinging statement.

“This sham impeachment effort is another embarrassment for House Republicans,” the New Yorker said. “The one and only reason for this impeachment is for Speaker [Mike] Johnson to further appease Donald Trump.”

The Mayorkas impeachment is of a kind with Senate Republicans’ decision last week to detonate their own hard-won border and immigration bill because Trump, their likely nominee for president, wants to campaign on the issue.

Schumer continued: “House Republicans failed to produce any evidence that Secretary Mayorkas has committed any crime. House Republicans failed to show he has violated the constitution. House Republicans failed to present any evidence of anything resembling an impeachable offense. This is a new low for House Republicans.”

Omerta! ‘Willful And Systemic Refusal To Follow The Law’ seems kind of like a “High Crimes” to me. Schumer and the gang do not recognize crimes by a Democrat. Republicans commit a crime by breathing too loud.

Let’s not discount lying under oath to Congress, only Republicans go to jail, but Mayorkas is the obedient, loyal soldier. Tim Burchett, who represents Knox County, Tennessee believes that Mayorkas lied before Congress (and so do I):

Thanks to the lies, the Mexican Cartels control our borders, we have no control of who crosses, their crimes and diseases, human trafficking and drugs. Joe Biden and Mayorkas at the world’s biggest traffickers.

Mayorkas was impeached for cause and nothing will happen. Democrat Omerta. I admire that.
