Abortion ‘Spa’ Carafem Launches Ad Campaign to Normalize Abortion

When I think of a spa, I think of getting a massage, resting, getting pampered. I don’t think of a spa as a place to have an abortion, but Carafem, a new abortion provider in Washington D.C., prefers the term “spa” when describing their establishment.

The upscale abortion “spa” launched earlier this month. Carafem offers patrons hot tea and comfy robes in the clinic that features wood floors, plush upholstery, and natural wood tones. It resembles a high-end salon or spa. You know, they want women to be very comfortable and feel really classy when they are about to start the process of killing their unborn children.

The upscale abortion mill is able to offer less expensive pharmaceutical abortions because they do not provide surgical abortions or any abortion after the mother is 10 weeks along. For $400, women will be offered counseling and basic tests, take the initial pill, and then return home with the second set of pills to induce the abortion the following day.

Carafem claims their goal is to have women out in an hour or less. Wow, that’s impressive. Counseling, tests, and the abortion pill in less than an hour. I can tell they truly care about women’s health. Can you sense my sarcasm? And, like any other spa, women can schedule their appointments on weekends or an evening by making an appointment online or calling their 24 hour hotline. After all, they must have that hotline. If they didn’t some silly woman might rethink having her baby aborted.

“We don’t want to talk in hushed tones,” Carafem president Christopher Purdy said. “We use the A-word.”

After their president uttered those words it isn’t exactly surprising that Carafem launched a new ad campaign this week to normalize abortion. The 30-second ad features three stereotypically type-casted white women having tea and attempting to avoid using the term abortion, talking about a friend or acquaintance who clearly had one. They’re interrupted by the young, hip, non-white woman in pink stilettoes, texting on her smart phone, who unashamedly says, “Ohhhhh, wait a minute. You guys are talking about abortion.”

“Because there is no shame in it. Abortion. Yeah, we do that,” is how the ad ends.

Listen, abortion is legal right now. I pray that one day it won’t be. I disagree with it, but what ever happened to having some shame about an unwanted pregnancy? Or, what happened to feeling some shame in getting an abortion? Why must these feminazi’s and their spineless man-child boyfriends and husbands try to normalize the murder of innocent babies?

“Carafem is leading with the word ‘abortion’ because Carafem seeks to reclaim the word, remove the stigma, and reposition it as the common experience it is for many women,” a spokesperson for the clinic told The Daily Caller News Foundation, citing a statistic that 1 in 3 women will have an abortion in their reproductive lifetime.

Shame is a normal emotion that human beings are supposed to feel when we make a mistake, and no matter how much these fools try to smooth that shame away, women still feel grief over abortion.

And, Carafem, just so you know, there is massive shame in abortion. In fact, in a study done by Anne Speckhard, Ph.D., 85% of women had some type of emotional reaction to their abortion. Shame, depression, feelings of low self-worth, anger, grief, and some even had suicidal thoughts. I’ve written a few times about my ex-husband, his abuse, and his insistence that I have an abortion, and even that experience makes me feel shame. So, don’t tell me, Carafem that abortion is normal and there is no shame.

“It’s fresh, it’s modern, it’s clean, it’s caring,” said Purdy. “That’s the brand we’re trying to create.”

How lovely. Abortion as a high-end spa brand. Falling in line with the powerful Planned Parenthood, its branding is done in pink and white, and they blabber on about women’s health.

Abortion is not natural. It is an assault on a woman’s natural maternal instincts. It is so depressing and distressing to me that an establishment like Carafem opened up. Abortion shouldn’t be glamourous, and it isn’t a trip to the spa. Also, Carafem, I’m not old. I’m not boring, and I’m not afraid to say the word “abortion”. I simply chose not to have one because I believe in the sanctity of human life, and I haven’t regretted that decision one bit.

  • And I note that it is the hip young woman of color doing the cool-with-abortion thing. Nice to know that the Carefem crew is keeping the eugenics push of the movement. (Can you sense my sarcasm?) It’s hardly subtle. Thwart the posh white women by removing any abortion stigma for women of color. Wow.
