Planned Parenthood is suing Texas for halting their abortion rampage. PP’s actions certainly murder a baby, likely endanger fully developed humans, and maybe kill the elderly too! Amidst a national shortage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for health care workers, surgeries deemed “elective” in Texas are postponed – including abortion. The priority for PPE is to meet the demand on the front lines of the pandemic. Precisely why the Governor signed the executive order (GA 09) halting all elective surgery. Attorney General Ken Paxton writes,
This prohibition applies throughout the State and to all surgeries and procedures that are not immediately medically necessary, including routine dermatological, ophthalmological, and dental procedures, as well as most scheduled healthcare procedures that are not immediately medically necessary such as orthopedic surgeries or any type of abortion that is not medically necessary to preserve the life or health of the mother.”
Planned Parenthood – a business so accustomed to ignoring decency that they don’t even think rules should apply to them.
A national shortage of PPE for first responders… pfft.
CDC recommendations for halting the transmission of the virus…. ehh, whatever….
Of course killing babies is more important than protecting the most at risk in our country – health care providers working without effective PPE, and the elderly. Screw Grandma, she’s old and probably votes pro-life!
.@GovAbbott doesn't think abortion is essential or, apparently, time-sensitive.
He's wrong.
So: we're suing, with our friends at @ReproRights and The Lawyering Project. See you in court. pic.twitter.com/FIQJeKgK4l

We are fighting a highly contagious disease. This risk is so great, that our country has shut down everything but the most essential services. There is a national shortage of PPE and health care systems are taking every measure to acquire PPE. The Texas Tribune writes,
PPE is our most urgent need at this point, and we’re working around the clock on that issue,” said Carrie Williams, a spokeswoman for the Texas Hospital Association. “We absolutely have to have the supplies to protect our health care workers. We can’t beat this without them.”
the article continues,
A nurse who works in a hospital in Williamson County, and asked to remain anonymous for fear of retaliation from her employer, said she is allowed one mask per shift and has been told to expect that tightening to one per week should conditions worsen. When they leave the room of a patient who may have the virus, the nurses place their N95 masks in brown paper bags and label them with their names. But reusing the masks — and touching them when they may be contaminated — defeats the purpose of the protective protocol, she said.”
But please, tell me how your abortion takes priority over safety for those on the front lines of treating people with a deadly virus. One N95 mask per shift? Possibly one per week? The risks this poses to the heath care provider, and other high-risk patients is unacceptable. This equipment is designed to be worn once, then removed to the trash or incinerator bin.
If abortion is rare like they want you to believe, how much PPE is being used? Let’s be really conservative in the estimate and use one set. One pair of sterile gloves, one gown, one mask. According to the Guttmacher Institute, “In 2017, 55,440 abortions were provided in Texas.” (Because I’m presently schooling 5th, 7th, and 8th grade kids in math, let’s do this old style) 55,440/12=4620. Using the 2017 numbers, a conservative estimate of one set of PPE per abortion nets over 4,000 sets per month. Realistically, multiple sets of PPE are used in the procedure. That is a lot of risk minimized for front line health care workers, and the elderly.
Here’s an idea… Maybe your abortionist can meet you wearing a gown and gloves from an earlier procedure. If the procedure is as clean and easy as PP would like you to believe, there’s no real reason the abortion provider can’t just reuse their PPE. If they won’t save the unborn, they can protect the elderly. Too gross? Image how that nurse feels when the recycled PPE is sliding over their face, and they’re cringing at the thought of transferring the virus from the mask to their nose.
I know! Source your own PPE. Show up for your appointment with a set for the provider. After all, it’s customary to bring something to a funeral.

We used to think it noble to protect our most vulnerable: children and the elderly. Suddenly, they have become expendable. We cannot let this happen.
Thank Peter Singer and his allies.
Good points all NC.. Sadly, reusing PPE has become the rule with this insanity. On our fire department, we are reusing masks until we use them in contact with a confirmed case of COVID, then we dispose and get a new one.
The lead in photo for this piece grabs my heart. I remember my Grandfather rocking the littlest ones of our family during the last days of his life. Just the thought brings a smile to my face and a tear to my eye.
Good article, but the premise may be flawed here. It makes the assumption that an abortion mill follows standard surgical protocols in the first place. Most of them, the “patient” is probably lucky if the “professionals” have a fresh pair of gloves.
I don’t know about “most” or just “some” but it certainly was true for some we have heard of in the last few years.
I saw this on an Australian site, written by a bloke called T B Lynch and thought it brilliant:
“Legalized abortion is a human sacrifice to the convenience of people already born.”
