The 44th Annual March for Life takes places today and at various locations around the United States. The first March for Life was held January 22, 1974. The theme for the March for Life this year is “The Power of One”. The link for local marches is here. Please be aware that most local marches will not be held on January 27. The main March for Life is in Washington, D.C.

Here is what you need to know:

March for Life Rally Point

The March for Life will rally by the Washington Monument at noon. After getting pumped up by the speakers, the March for Life will proceed up Constitution Avenue to the Capitol and Supreme Court Buildings at approximately 1:00 p.m.

2017 March for Life Speakers

It was announced this afternoon that Vice President Mike Pence will speak at the March for Life. This will mark the first time that a Vice President of the United States of America will speak at the March for Life. Additional speakers include:

Timothy Cardinal Dolan of the New York Diocese
Kellyanne Conway, Special Counselor to President Donald Trump
Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA)
Representative Mia Love (R-UT)
Representative Chris Smith (R-NJ)

There are other speakers, but these are the heavy hitters.

Protesting the March for Life

The usual suspects such as NARAL, National Abortion Federation and Stop Patriarchy will probably show up to protest. They will chant:

Pro-choice united!
and we’ll never be defeated!
Not the church, not the state,
Women must decide their fate!
Right-to-Life your name’s a lie,
You don’t care if women die!
No back alleys in the night,
For safe choices we will fight!
What do we want? CHOICE!
When do we want it? ALWAYS!
They say no-choice
We say PRO-CHOICE!
