The jury has come back with a verdict in the federal case against Dzhokhar Tsarnaev: GUILTY.
There were 30 charges against Tsarnaev, and the first 18 were all death penalty charges. The first two charges are:
*Count 1 – Conspiracy to use a weapon of mass destruction, resulting in death
*Count 2 – Use of a weapon of mass destruction (Pressure Cooker Bomb #1), resulting in death; and aiding and abetting
Tsarnaev has been found guilty on both of those charges. These were seen as the most important, and the ones that would indicate how the rest of the charges would follow.
Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the now-convicted Boston Marathon Bomber, is now eligible for the death penalty. The penalty phase will begin at a later date, but Tsarnaev will never again see daylight as a free man.
UPDATE 1439 EDT:
Tsarnaev has been found guilty of all 30 charges.
Now, his defense attorney, Judy Clarke, will plead his case to avoid the death penalty – something she has prior experience with:
Clarke is one of the nation’s foremost death-penalty specialists and has kept other high-profile defendants off death row. She saved the lives of Unabomber Ted Kaczynski and Susan Smith, the South Carolina woman who drowned her two children in a lake in 1994.
I am hoping that she will be less successful this time.
Thank you, prosecutors and jurists. May their families and friends find peace.
And may his soul burn in Hell!

I hear Bammy can nullify a death sentence or pardon him; I don’t know for certain that he’s a Moslem but he’s certainly a Moslem sympathizer. What could we do if that occurred as he exited office?
Xavier, I wouldn’t put anything past that narcissistic douche.

The first half of justice is accomplished. The second half may take a while – even with a death sentence it could take years of appeals.
Oh, and I will re-iterate my support for tried and true methods of execution: rope, scaffold, drop.
