Happy Sunday, dear friends! We blinked and it is the last Sunday in February. 2026 started off with a bang and it shows no sign of slowing down. I’ve got champagne as usual but feel free to indulge in stronger spirits as the portside is ramping up the rhetoric and the violence against every person who had the temerity to not vote as they demanded. Democracy for Democrats doesn’t exist when the other guy wins. The two Americas can be illustrated nicely by comparing two American Olympians — Alisa Liu and Eileen Gu. The former, an unabashedly proud American who brought Gold home vs the latter who could not care less about being American and ended up with Silver plus a few million dollars competing for Communist China. Patriotic Americans are anathema to the party that sees Gavin Newsom, Bernie Sandars and Zohran Mamdani as their standard bearers.

So, let’s make up some Kentucky Mules, load up our plates with bacon and eggs and let’s get to it. L’Chaim!

The grieving parents of a 26-year-old man are speaking out against Canada’s medical assistance in dying (MAID) laws, arguing the system failed to protect their “vulnerable” son from being euthanized, despite a history of mental illness.
