NY City Art Show: The Corruption Runs Deep

When normies think “Art”, they think Picasso — not a twelve-foot penis. And certainly not tax-payer-funded sex shows.

But, here we are.

Park Avenue Armory honchos have been trying to boot kid cadets from their building for years — but are happy to showcase a controversial performance artist’s show depicting 12-foot penises, “open orifices” and women “furiously” massaging their breasts.

The US debut of Marina Abramović’s four-hour “Balkan Erotic Epic” opens next year in the drill hall of the Upper East Side historic building run by a non-profit accused of using it as its own shady private country club.

Adding insult to injury, Abramović sits on the Armory’s board of directors, creating a massive conflict of interest, critics charge.

When Rudy Giuliani’s administration worked to turn Times Square from crime and peep shows to a family-friendly destination in the 90s, some critics actually bemoaned the change saying the area was losing its edginess. Some missed the live sex shows and XXX movies with a side of sketchy criminal types which seemed to be the only things to get the adrenaline moving in the more jaded of New York’s Beautiful People.

Although, it should be noted that Times Square is today, again, looking more like 1990s.

But where there is a will, there’s a way and if the USAID scandal has taught us normies anything, it was that Our Betters have become pretty adapt at getting their jollies and having the rest of us pay for it.

The show also features five guys “face down, humping the ground . . . relentlessly on for the duration of the four-hour performance” to fertilize the soil, as five giant penises tower above them in a grassy field.

During another explicit scene, a group of seven women are seen “repeatedly exposing their vulvas to the ground and sky” — apparently to make the rain stop — while another naked bunch stand in a graveyard massaging their breasts “while having a slow-motion orgy with skeletons.”

Now, exactly who is going to pony up $85/ticket for that?

But this “art” grift is an old one. Marina Abramović is considered the “grandmother of performance art”. A category of “art” that has inflicted shows of abject nihilism, narcissism, and schlock while daring anyone to object for decades. Filled with poseurs and talentless hacks, they’ve learned the art of the grift and go straight for Free Gubmint Money.

Bosses at the nonprofit Park Avenue Armory on the Upper East Side have turned the national landmark into their “own personal country club” — while fighting to kick out two dozen child cadets from the nation’s oldest afterschool program in its building, The Post has learned.

The nonprofit running the space – the Seventh Regiment Armory Conservancy – has been using the 145-year-old building to host exclusive affairs like fashion shows by Giorgio Armani, Marc Jacob and Oscar de la Renta and after-parties attended by the likes of Beyonce, Victoria Beckham and Orlando Bloom.

The ostensible Conservancy has, in the 19 years they’ve held the lease, restored only four rooms in the city-block-sized building, while millions of dollars in taxpayer money has flowed into its coffers. And they are demanding that a small room in the basement used for over 100 years for an afterschool program must be turned over to them immediately.

One wonders if Marina’s sex show — so bad that even the far-left paper, The Guardian, panned it — is aimed directly at the families of the kid cadets to scare them away.

The “Conservancy’s” financials need a public colonoscopy. The state needs to conduct it because misuse of taxpayer money is just not on commie Mamdani’s radar.

If the Park Avenue Beautiful People want to party like Roman Bacchanalia, go for it. But not with taxpayer money on public property.

And stay away from the kids.
