“F*ck The Patriarchy” Chant At The Taylor Swift Concert

David Hookstead of Outkick believes we are overreacting to Taylor Swift leading a chant of “F*ck the Patriarchy” at her concert. I beg to disagree. At a time when ALL of the stiff-necked, blue nosed Karens have got their knickers in a knot over the vulgarity of septuagenarian Donald Trump, it must be called out when a mid-thirties female billionaire gets 88,000 tweenies and their Karen Moms to chant out about the men who oppress them. Just the hypocrisy alone should be an issue.

Taylor Swift and the, mostly, children chanting “F*ck the Patriarchy” sounded something like this:

I smoke, drink and curse like it’s the 1940’s so I am not precious about those vices, but I do try to moderate them in public, because I am a Southern Lady. We have our standards, doncha know. Here is David Hookstead’s opinion from Outkick:

Social media isn’t happy with Taylor Swift after some old lyrics went viral.

Swift is all over social media after Travis Kelce appeared at a show in London with her Sunday. It set the crowd on fire, but that’s not the only reason she’s trending all over social media.

A video from an earlier June show in Liverpool has resurfaced on X, and people aren’t happy she sang the lyrics “F*ck the patriarchy.”

The lyrics are from her mega-hit song “All Too Well,” which was released in 2021.

Hookstead then posts quite a few X’s and writes:

That’s a small taste of what’s floating around social media right now. There are countless more examples on X, and it’s currently a top trending moment.

The problem is that I can’t figure out why. Why do people care so much about lyrics from several years ago from a woman who has been pretty clear about her “girl boss” mentality?

I love dunking on out-of-touch celebrities as much as the next person. It’s where I do my best work. However, people need to learn when to hold their fire. This isn’t worth the outrage and meltdowns we’re seeing on social media. It’s a song! Folks, it’s a song focused on relationship issues like much of Swift’s music. People on social media are acting like this is a national crisis.

It’s very cringe and weird to care this much about what Taylor Swift is singing.

Also, the idea that Taylor Swift is some awful role model for young women is a bit rich. She’s never had any issues with the law, no bad PR stories and is worth around a billion dollars. If your daughter has that kind of track record, then I’d say she’s doing just fine. It’s time for people to take a deep breath, crack a beer and relax. There are much bigger issues to worry about than some 2021 lyrics from T-Swift.

Slow your roll there, Mr. Hookstead. There are much, much bigger issues out there. But, unlike Congress, some of us can walk, chew gum and kvetch about an artist’s hypocrisy all at the same time. We can worry about the Biden Administration’s complicity in human trafficking with the Mexican cartels and kvetch about Tay’s corruption of minors. This is not an either-or situation.

The British Royal Family is having some health problems. King Charles III and Katherine, Princess of Wales, are having cancer treatments and Princess Anne, the Princess Royal was kicked in the head by a horse this weekend (occupational hazard for a horsewoman) so it’s great to see Prince Williams taking two of his three kids to a concert. This weekend was Taylor Swift.

Prince George is ten and Princess Charlotte is nine. Surely, Miss Swift was given a heads up that the Prince of Wales was coming to her concert that night. Did Swift edit that line in her performance that night? A future monarch is not someone whose children you want corrupt. PW and Swift have been acquainted for over a decade and she considers him her m8 (mate).

If Swift were really a rebel who wanted to “F*ck the Patriarchy”, there are not too many more perfect avatars for the patriarchy than the Prince of Wales. Corrupting his children would be the cherry on the top of that f*ck.

No Taylor has not been arrested and the friendship bracelet swaps are adorable, but I doubt that Swift knows what the patriarchy is. She certainly hasn’t been held back by the patriarchy.

I will be as offended as I want.

If it wasn’t for men in the music industry, she’d be a forgotten footnote in country music history.

Ha ha ha! As if there’s a “patriarchy”. They’re simply miserable people.

It’s never a good idea for a performer to criticize the people putting cash into their pockets. Ask The Dixie Chicks what happened when they referred to their fans as “redneck trailer trash”. If you can find them.

My first thought on seeing the pic was “Those aren’t Prince William’s kids. And what’s he doing at a Swift concert, anyway?”
