The UN continues to be the most worthless group on the face of the earth. On the same day that their “top” court, the International Court of Justice, is telling Israel that they had better be careful to not commit genocide, the UN group that is supposedly all about providing aid for Palestinians is quietly admitting that some of their people helped Hamas commit atrocities on October 7th.
First, the court case. South Africa – yes, that flowering garden of human rights that has its own current problems with anti-Semitism – decided to take Israel to the ICJ at the UN and accused them of “genocide” against Gaza. Because of course, the United Nations is going to be completely fair and impartial when it comes to Israel.
The ICJ handed down an “interim decision” today, telling Israel that they had better not be committing genocide, and they should be trying to avoid killing people during a war. No, really.
The United Nations’ top court ordered Israel on Friday to do all it can to prevent death, destruction and any acts of genocide in its military offensive in Gaza, but stopped short of ordering a cease-fire.
South Africa alleged that Israel’s campaign in the tiny coastal enclave amounted to genocide in the case, which goes to the core of one of the world’s most intractable conflicts, and had asked the court to order Israel to halt the operation.
While the ruling stopped short of that, it nonetheless constituted an overwhelming rebuke of Israel’s wartime conduct and adds to mounting international pressure to halt the offensive that has killed more than 26,000 Palestinians, decimated vast swaths Gaza, and driven nearly 85% of its 2.3 million people from their homes.
In the highly anticipated decision made by a panel of 17 judges, the International Court of Justice decided not to throw out the case — and ordered six so-called provisional measures to protect Palestinians in Gaza.
While the case winds its way through the court, South Africa had asked the judges “as a matter of extreme urgency” to impose provisional measures.
Top of the South African list was a request for the court to order Israel to “immediately suspend its military operations in and against Gaza.” But the court declined to do that.
South Africa also asked for Israel to take “reasonable measures” to prevent genocide and allow access for desperately needed aid.
The court ruled that Israel must do all it can to prevent genocide, including refraining from killing Palestinians or causing harm to them. It also ruled it urgently needs to get basic aid to people in Gaza and that Israel should prevent and punish any incitement to genocide, among other measures. The court said Israel should submit a report on measures taken within a month.
Of course, the hilarious part of this is that the ICJ, and the UN, have no way of actually enforcing ANY ruling that they hand down. Which is why this entire exercise is a joke. This is all about the UN feeling like they are important, large, and in charge. Which is why Israel is essentially telling the ICJ to stuff it.
“Israel will continue to defend itself against Hamas, a genocidal terror organization,” Netanyahu said in a message from Jerusalem. He stressed that “Israel’s commitment to international law is unwavering. Equally unwavering is our sacred commitment to continue to defend our country and defend our people. Like every country, Israel has an inherent right to defend itself.
“The vile attempt to deny Israel this fundamental right is blatant discrimination against the Jewish state, and it was justly rejected. The charge of genocide leveled against Israel is not only false, it’s outrageous, and decent people everywhere should reject it,” Netanyahu said.
“On October 7, Hamas perpetrated the most horrific atrocities against the Jewish people since the Holocaust, and it vows to repeat these atrocities again and again and again. Our war is against Hamas terrorists, not against Palestinian civilians,” Netanyahu stated. We will continue to facilitate humanitarian assistance, and to do our utmost to keep civilians out of harm’s way, even as Hamas uses civilians as human shields,” he said.
Israel’s far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir appeared to mock the World Court on Friday after it ordered Israel to prevent acts of genocide against the Palestinians and do more to help civilians in Gaza.
“Hague shmague,” the minister wrote on X. “the antisemitic court ruling in the Hague proves what has already been known: This court does not seek justice, but rather the persecution of the Jewish people.
“They were silent during the Holocaust, and today, they stepped up a level in their hypocrisy,” Ben-Gvir continued. “We cannot adhere to such dangerous rulings that risk the future existence of the State of Israel, and we must continue destroying the enemy until total victory is achieved.
Benny Gantz commented on the ruling saying “When Israel was founded, we vowed, “never again”. Now, we deliver on our promise and fulfill our national and historic duty. In accordance with international law, Jewish heritage, and the values of the IDF. We will continue to honor that historic duty, and abide by strict moral and legal standards – both of them.”
Call me crazy, but that Israeli government doesn’t appear to be very divided about this ruling.
And now we get to the really sticky wicket that the UN is finding itself in today. On the very same day that their Sooper Speshul Court hands down this unenforceable ruling, their Sooper Speshul agency UNRWA – “United Nations Relief And Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East” – which has been long used as cover and shield for Hamas in Gaza, is now admitting that yeah, some of their “employees” probably helped out on October 7th in the invasion, murder, rape, and massacre of Israelis. WHOOPS.

The statement from UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini sounds like they know exactly who did what, and they are desperate to salvage their reputation somehow by… FIRING the employees who participated with Hamas. Yeah, that’ll do it!
“The Israeli Authorities have provided UNRWA with information about the alleged involvement of several UNRWA employees in the horrific attacks on Israel on 7 October.
“To protect the Agency’s ability to deliver humanitarian assistance, I have taken the decision to immediately terminate the contracts of these staff members and launch an investigation in order to establish the truth without delay. Any UNRWA employee who was involved in acts of terror will be held accountable, including through criminal prosecution.
“UNRWA reiterates its condemnation in the strongest possible terms of the abhorrent attacks of 7 October and calls for the immediate and unconditional release of all Israeli hostages and their safe return to their families.
“These shocking allegations come as more than 2 million people in Gaza depend on lifesaving assistance that the Agency has been providing since the war began. Anyone who betrays the fundamental values of the United Nations also betrays those whom we serve in Gaza, across the region and elsewhere around the world”.
Anyone else going to be holding their breath to see who gets to arrest and prosecute any UNRWA employees who are accused of participating in the October 7th atrocities? Hey, ICJ, HERE’S A CASE FOR YOU, YOU ABSOLUTE FOOLS. The allegations that UNRWA employees were a part of the attack on Israel has been around for months, and the UN’s official response until now has been to put their heads in the sand.
CNN: A survivor of Hamas captivity said he was held hostage by an UNRWA teacher. What's UNRWA's response?
UNRWA: I can speak about the flour that UNRWA delivers.
CNN: Does it bother you that an UNRWA teacher held somebody hostage?

In a belated move, the Biden administration has NOW decided to withhold any new spending on UNRWA. This is called “covering your ass.”
The State Department is temporarily pausing new funding for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East while reviewing allegations that 12 UNRWA employees were involved in the Oct. 7 attack on Israel, according to State Department spokesman Matthew Miller.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke Thursday with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres “to emphasize the necessity of a thorough and swift investigation of this matter,” Miller said in a statement.
“There must be complete accountability for anyone who participated in the heinous attacks of October 7,” Miller said.
Hmmmm, there WAS an administration that stopped funding the UNRWA, and then one that restarted it.
The Biden admin had a serious problem of just assuming everything the previous admin did was wrong and thus needed to be reversed. That led to several really bad and embarrassing decisions. This is a clear example of that trend. pic.twitter.com/IxAjVsmeyx

Chalk up another win for the Biden administration! They’re just batting a thousand these days!
The ICJ, for what it is worth, did call for Hamas to release the hostages they are still holding in captivity. For the record, this is how Hamas is responding to the ICJ’s ruling

The UN is a joke. Their moral cowardice has aided and abetted terrorism, and now their delusions of grandeur will result in more death. Their top court condemns Israel, while acknowledging that their own employees have Israeli blood on their hands. Truly, this is a banner day for the United Nations. If those self-righteous jackasses had a shred of decency left in their bodies, they would all resign immediately.

The UN needs to be booted out of New York, and we need to get out of that joke of an organization.
The only thing Israel has done wrong since Oct 7th is they moved too slowly and cautiously.. they should have leveled Gaza and made the rubble bounce within a week of the terrorist attacks
The only thing that the UN does effectively is find new ways to blame America and Israel for all the world’s problems and employ child prostitutes.
The UN continues to be the most worthless group on the face of the earth.
Oh, come on, Deanna. I mean it might be in the top 10, but you can’t seriously…
LOL, ok I couldn’t keep typing that with a straight face. You’re right, absolutely useless.
ICJ….But what about the ICC?
Those ICC prosecutors with Arabic names can’t condemn Israel harder.
I miss Trump, who sanctioned those bastards.
Everyone knows the law is an ass. It has never been more apparent than the last few weeks.
