Freedom Fight in the Ukraine

I dare you not to be moved…

Who says women aren’t strong?

The Ukrainians are raising the stakes on revolution and rebellion against the dictatorship that rules their country and fighting for their freedom.  They are standing against tyranny.  They are fighting in the streets against the authorities that would help to preserve the status quo, and enforce it through beatings and tear gas.  Yet, I had to see this on Facebook and Youtube; not NBC, CBS, CNN, ABC, or MSNBC.  They are apparently too busy apologizing for the mention of Monica Lewinski’s name, talking about Ted Cruz needing a food taster, and figuring out how to kiss the ass of the President while claiming they don’t to cover this as the major worldwide event that it is.  This is like ignoring Tianamen Square and the fall of the Wall in Berlin.

The reason this is happening are many fold for sure, but everyone around the world knows that Barack Obama and his administration are the biggest and most inept gang of pussies that have been in power in quite some time.  He is starting to make the French look positively aggressive, because once again, the world is a dangerous place that is governed by the use of force.  It is not, as this administration believes, a place where soaring rhetoric and the aggressive use of speeches sway the dictators and tyrannical regimes of the world into suddenly changing their ways.  Because of the latter philosophy being SOP for this administration, we get from our State Department the equivalent of throat clearing and sternly worded letters expressing things like “disappointment” and “outrage” while encouraging both sides to “de-escalate” the situation.  How about a statement of support for the people who have the most to risk?  How about talking in firm terms about what America would support and what America would do?

He hosed the Iranians when they rose up in the streets of Iran, and he is doing it now to the Ukraine.

Machiavelli once said:  “it is much safer to be feared than loved because …love is preserved by the link of obligation which, owing to the baseness of men, is broken at every opportunity for their advantage; but fear preserves you by a dread of punishment which never fails.”  The reason that we are seeing some of the things we are seeing in history today is because every nation around the world, from Iran to China to Europe senses that America is no longer feared, and they are planning accordingly.

People of Ukraine;  There are many of us who hear your pleas.  There are many of us praying for you and standing with you in the cause of your liberation from tyranny.  Take heart in the spirit of our founders.

“Three millions of people, armed in the holy cause of liberty, and in such a country as that which we possess, are invincible by any force which our enemy can send against us. Besides, sir, we shall not fight our battles alone. There is a just God who presides over the destinies of nations; and who will raise up friends to fight our battles for us. The battle, sir, is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave.”

My husband watched this video, and I saw a look on his face that in all our years together, I haven’t seen before, even on 9/11.  It looked like pain, longing, anger, and resolve all thrown into the juicer at once and spun at high speed.  What came out was silence.  He said nothing except “Humph..” but I know he wants to be there in the Ukraine.  I think he thinks he could help, and more than that, I think he thinks he could win.  I am certain though that the Ukrainian government would look most unkindly on anyone (and the friends he would most certainly bring) with his background and training on just being there in the country.  Possibly an international incident would be my guess.  You know, like if some retired Spetsnaz guys showed up at an Occupy Protest.  Bad times I am sure.

Spread the word to everyone you know.  Freedom is the light of all people and all people are entitled to a taste of it and to bask in its sweet and warming glow.  It isn’t easy to get, it doesn’t come for free and it should never be given away to the undeserving or those that don’t appreciate it.

While you are watching the video, I want you to listen to her words, and her explanation of why they are fighting.  I sense a parallel there here in America.  I fear greatly that sometime, someday, their fight may be a mirror of what ours is going to be.

Give me liberty, or give me death…..
