I have a confession to make: I love Vivek Ramaswamy. I have loved him since 2021 when he wrote Woke, Inc. and, if I recall correctly, he was on Tucker Carlson. Then, I found out he was raised in Cincinnati; I was raised in Cincinnati, and I was done. When he announced he was running in the 2024 Republican Presidential Primary and I was done. Love, love, love him. This early in the game Ramaswamy is polling in the double digits ahead of very well-known names like Asa Hutchison, Nikki Haley and Chris Christie. Hallelujah!
November, 2024 is a long way away and there is many a slip between the cup and the lip. We don’t talk about President Jeb! Bush or President Carly Fiorina, because they couldn’t cut the mustard. Vivek Ramaswamy is different. He is smart and he can articulate ideas. Not necessarily new ideas, but Conservative ideas in a fresh way. Elizabeth Stauffer of the Washington Examiner wrote:
A first-generation American, Vivek Ramaswamy is quite the accomplished person. He was “a nationally ranked tennis player and the valedictorian of his high school, St. Xavier. He went on to graduate summa cum laude in Biology from Harvard and received his J.D. from Yale Law School, while working at a hedge fund. He then started a biotech company, Roivant Sciences, where he oversaw the development of five drugs that went on to become FDA-approved,” according to his campaign website.
He’s run a business and met a payroll. More:
Ramaswamy is also surging in the latest national survey of 2024 Republican presidential primary candidates. A new poll conducted by Echelon Insights between June 26 and June 29 showed his support at 10% among likely voters, catapulting the newcomer into third place behind former President Donald Trump, at 49%, and Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), at 16%. The survey puts Ramaswamy ahead of his nearest rivals, including former Vice President Mike Pence (5%), former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (5%), Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) (4%), and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (2%).
This result, of course, could turn out to be an outlier. The RealClearPolitics polling average showed Ramaswamy’s support at just 2.4%, putting him behind Trump (52.4%), DeSantis (21.5%), Pence (5.7%), Haley (3.6%), and Scott (3.5%) and on par with Christie (2.4%). The polls included in the RealClearPolitics average were taken between June 5-26, and they showed Ramaswamy’s support increasing throughout the month. The most recent, a Fox News poll of registered voters conducted between June 23-26, showed Ramaswamy at 5%.
Ramaswamy is just barely old enough to qualify to run for President at 37 years old. I am not holding that against him. He’s not holier than thou like Mike Pence. And, I want a hard fought primary. The harder the primary the more the candidate is prepared for the General Election fight. I love smashmouth politics. I don’t want a coronation. I want our candidates to have a tough time, but they shouldn’t have to put up with egotistical loons like Eric Bolling who told Ramaswamy that he (Bolling) didn’t think he (Ramaswamy) would be President.
A little more from the Washington Examiner:
I was impressed with the anti-woke Ramaswamy from the moment I first heard him speak back in February. He enumerates 10 fundamental “truths” on his website that many conservatives can rally behind:
God is real.
There are two genders.
Human flourishing requires fossil fuels.
Reverse racism is racism.
An open border is no border.
Parents determine the education of their children.
The nuclear family is the greatest form of governance known to mankind.
Capitalism lifts people up from poverty.
There are three branches of the U.S. government, not four.
The U.S. Constitution is the strongest guarantor of freedoms in history.
On his Vivek 2024 website, he has more for you to chew on. Ideas like this:
01
Revive American National IdentityUse the military, including drones, to secure our southern border
End affirmative action: repeal Lyndon Johnson’s executive order 11246
Protect American children: ban addictive social media under age 16 & gender confusion “care” for minors
Make political expression a civil right & end unlawful DEI indoctrination
Withhold federal funding for cities that refuse to protect Americans from violent crime
Here Vivek Ramaswamy is on China, Mexico, Ukraine and Russia:
“ESG stands for Export Soviet Gas”.
I kind of felt sorry for Abby Phillip trying to take on Ramaswamy:
We live in a constitutional *Republic*, not a direct democracy. I favor ending birthright citizenship for those whose parents entered the country *illegally* because we shouldn’t reward those who violate the law with the intent of exploiting the citizenship rules. That’s not what… pic.twitter.com/CwMfyrTWug

Give Vivek Ramaswamy a twirl and see how he does in the Republican Primaries. I heart him a lot.

“Double Digit” polling = 9.5 pollsters
Waiting to see more from the candidates, though there are a few that are no-go from the start. That being said, I look forward to hearing more from Vivek. He seems to have some good ideas..
