New Hillary Clinton Op-Ed On Trump Impeachment

The Washington Post has published an Op-Ed by Hillary Clinton regarding the crimes committed by President Donald Trump. She does not call directly for his impeachment. She lays out a path forward for Congress. The article instead gives us yet another window into the world of delusion in which Mrs. Clinton resides.

The depth of Hillary’s delusion is in the very first paragraph:

Our election was corrupted, our democracy assaulted, our sovereignty and security violated. This is the definitive conclusion of special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s report. It documents a serious crime against the American people.

The debate about how to respond to Russia’s “sweeping and systematic” attack — and how to hold President Trump accountable for obstructing the investigation and possibly breaking the law — has been reduced to a false choice: immediate impeachment or nothing. History suggests there’s a better way to think about the choices ahead.

Nowhere in the Mueller Report did Mr. Mueller allege that Russia, led by Vladimir Putin, corrupted our election. Did the Russians try to meddle in the 2016 election? Yes, definitively. If you haven’t read the post by Victory Girls’ Marta Hernandez on the “active measures” employed by the Russians/Putin, I have linked it here. In order for Hillary Clinton to live in her world of make-believe, she must believe the election was stolen from her by Donald Trump’s collusion as a puppet of Vladimir Putin. There is no way that Mrs. Clinton can absorb the idea that the American electorate/the Deplorables rejected her.

The next paragraph is a dilly too:

Obviously, this is personal for me, and some may say I’m not the right messenger. But my perspective is not just that of a former candidate and target of the Russian plot. I am also a former senator and secretary of state who served during much of Vladimir Putin’s ascent, sat across the table from him and knows firsthand that he seeks to weaken our country.

No, someone who is still carrying a grudge and refuses to acknowledge reality is not the right messenger. Gee, Hillary, anyone with a passing knowledge of history knows that Russia has wanted to “weaken our country” for the last sixty years. Your fours years of globe-trotting doesn’t seem to have given you any depth.

Back to the Hillary delusion and her Watergate experience:

I am also someone who, by a strange twist of fate, was a young staff attorney on the House Judiciary Committee’s Watergate impeachment inquiry in 1974…

Yes, you were, Mrs. Clinton. Let’s take a stroll down memory lane and examine your performance as a “young staff attorney”. While Hillary was not fired from the Watergate Committee, her performance review was pretty scathing. From the Cato Institute:

In neither of his books does Zeifman say he fired Clinton. But in 2008, a reporter named Dan Calabrese wrote an article that claimed that “when the investigation was over, Zeifman fired Hillary from the committee staff and refused to give her a letter of recommendation.” The article quoted Zeifman as saying: “She was a liar. She was an unethical, dishonest lawyer. She conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the committee and the rules of confidentiality.”…

Jerry Zeifman was the Chief Counsel for the House Judiciary Committee Watergate Hearings. He was your first boss right out of law school, Hillary. No letter of recommendation? I would have been gutted. Not our girl, Hillary.

Next up, Hillary Clinton takes a sideswipe at Robert Mueller and a direct hit on Attorney General William Barr:

Whether they like it or not, Republicans in Congress share the constitutional responsibility to protect the country. Mueller’s report leaves many unanswered questions — in part because of Attorney General William P. Barr’s redactions and obfuscations. But it is a road map. It’s up to members of both parties to see where that road map leads — to the eventual filing of articles of impeachment, or not.

Now, I have not read the Mueller Report. Alan Dershowitz did and our Amanda wrote about it. Read Amanda’s post here. In his introduction Professor Dershowitz bemoans the hyper-partisan attitude of today. Hillary is the definition of hyper-partisan.

Hillary continues on with her “roadmap” for Congress in the editorial. The whole thing is bollocks. I am going to throw out a few phrases and all of you feel free to shout out the first thing that comes to mind: Travel office firings. Rose Law Firm billings. Whitewater. Cattle futures. Johnny Chung and the White House Turnstile. The Clinton Foundation. Uranium One. Home brew server. Deleted emails.

There is enough there that any other person would have been indicted. Sound familiar:

This woman, Hillary Clinton, has gotten where she is because of who she married. She married Bill Clinton and his likeability opened the doors for her. She is not likeable. She is not that smart. She has been rejected by the American people. First, for Barack Obama. Then, for Donald Trump. Since she lacks the capability for introspection, she is lashing out at Trump and all of us Deplorables.

Hillary, go take a hike. Enjoy your delusion.

Not sure who said it first, but it bears repeating,
First, the Democrats rigged the election, and lost.
Then, they rigged the investigation, and lost . ..

If this ever gets anthologised how about titling it “Letter From A Federal Prison”.

Employed a foreign operative to troll Russians for allegations to compile a dossier of dirt to be used to directly influence the outcome of an election.

The only people we know that actively, knowingly colluded with Foreign operatives and Russians were Democrats.

    But Orange man bad….

That’s cute. Weaponize the FBI, CIA and Department of Justice to destroy you, your friends, and your presidency, and if you complain you are “obstructing justice”. Like a card shark who cries “assault!” when you grab an Ace from his sleeve.

  • Russ Tibbitts says:

Donald Trump’s greatest accomplishment was protecting the nation from further harm by this woman, and his election is evidence that God still cares about the U.S.

She mastered the art of wriggling out of scandal, albeit in usually ugly fashion. Her role in the needless Benghazi tragedy is unforgivable, if for no other reason than she concocted numerous lies to hide her own ineptness.

All of her skating by, however, comes at a price. After decades of effort, using the most sensitive instruments available, scientists have been completely unable to detect a soul.

Am I deplorable for enjoying Hillary’s descent into irrelevancy?

“She has been rejected by the American people.”

No one should ignore the fact she won the popular vote. Yes, the Electoral College is what really elects the President, and she stupidly and arrogantly didn’t take into account. Whatever else happens, Biden won’t make *that* mistake.
