New Report Says Pentagon “Likely Will” Allow Transgendered Americans to Serve Openly

This is why those of us with a conservative bent think that those with the opposite bent have exactly less than zero clue as to what makes a military, well, a military.

Having already lifted the “don’t ask, don’t tell” ban on gays in the military, the Pentagon “likely will” allow transgendered Americans to serve openly in the military where 15,500 now secretly serve, according to a new report issued by top former generals.

Three of the top brass, endorsing the deployment of transgendered troops, also said their effort has the support of Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel and President Obama.

And I think our concerns are well founded.  Evidently the idea is that instead of the military being in the business of killing bad people and breaking things that bad people like to use to help kill good people, we are instead going to use our military to help the hims and hers figure out their himness and herness while serving in uniform so that at some point, they may or may not be able to kill bad guys.

It is like I woke up this morning in Bizarro World.  We have an administration making policy to accommodate 1.06 percent of the total number of people in the US military which will end up affecting 100 percent of those serving.

In a statement accompanying the 29 page report issued Tuesday, they said, “Our conclusion is that allowing transgender personnel to serve openly is administratively feasible and will not be burdensome or complicated. Three months have passed since Defense Secretary Hagel announced a willingness to review the military’s ban on transgender service, an effort the White House indicated it supports.”

Not burdensome or complicated.”   Hmmmm…  Hey Chuck, first question; what exactly is your plan for bathroom and barracks facilities?  Where is the Chick, who has a… Well, you know… going to live?  Whose barracks room and shower will he/she/it be using?  How about military courtesies Chuck?  When a soldier salutes an officer and gives the greeting of the day (“Good Morning!, or Airborne!, or Pray for War!” etc..) how will the soldier address the Chick with a… who has a… Well, you know…  Is it a “Sir” or “Ma’am?”  Which company of soldiers will these individuals be placed in during basic training?  Basic training isn’t a co-ed affair because men live with men and women with women, so that there aren’t the attendant problems of high testosterone levels and stress inoculation causing young men and women to do what they were designed to do at that age.  How do you plan to measure their physical training scores?  Each Service uses scoring and points systems designed for “males” and “females”  in order to rank them within their gender.  What is your plan there for that Chuck?

The three are retired Maj. Gen. Gale S. Pollock, former acting surgeon general of the Army; Brig. Gen. Clara Adams-Ender, former chief of the U.S. Army Nurse Corps; and Brig. Gen. Thomas A. Kolditz, a Yale University professor and professor emeritus at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, where he led the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Leadership.

These are the brain trusts that thought this was a good idea.  I can only imagine that they are the victim of this administration’s version of a “Jack-ass” style prank in which they were told to “study” the idea academically and write all their ideas and plans down and then they woke up to find their “study” suddenly had become “policy.”

If you want to see their 29 page report, you can go read it.  I did and it was enlightening in that it describes how policies and regulations can be lifted or modified to accommodate transgendered people, but all it did was make my head hurt.  For example:

Current military policy already allows service by individuals who may require hormonal treatments, including those with hormonal imbalance, dysmenorrhea, endometriosis, menopausal syndrome, chronic pelvic pain, hysterectomy, or oophorectomy, which only require special medical referral if they cause complications or impair duty performance. Non-transgender service members are allowed to take a wide range of medications, including hormones, while deployed in combat settings, and existing military policy states that “There are few medications that are inherently disqualifying for deployment.”

You will see throughout the report a constant theme referred to, which is “foreign militaries that allow transgender personnel…”  My husband always referred to anything the Pentagon did as “directives from the Puzzle Palace.”  Now that he is retired, I am getting it.  So because the French surrender frequently, we should try that policy too?  Progressives may not know this, but just because someone else does it, doesn’t mean we have to.  I must have this conversation with my son at least 6 times a day, but since progressives really aren’t into procreation, my guess is they haven’t a clue what I am talking about.

I am imagining supplies being made up for forward deployed troops to push out of a helicopter in the middle of the night and right along with ammunition and food, the supply folks have to make sure that “Danielle”, who used to be “Daniel” gets his/her/its hormones while out killing the Taliban, and I would like to point out, when I took my birth control pills when I was young, it didn’t turn me into another gender, and it wasn’t required for me to take it to continue to be a “woman.”

Oh, and I forgot, given the news I see from Iraq these days, the US military as led from behind by PINO Barack Obama isn’t in the Taliban killing business anymore.  They are in the “Army of One” business now; so that everyone in the 1.05 percent feels good.  Strength of arms for world peace is sooooo Neocon…  And he has a tee time anyway…

Are we lacking some sort of need in our forces that Trannies have an ability to fill?  Is there something missing from the structure of our forces that makes it so we have to run about ensuring that the 1.05 percent of people who are transgendered are “retained?”

The Clinton presidency tried to turn the military into a place to test social policy, and found out what a miserable failure it was, but in true liberal fashion, we have to go through the insanity of repeating the same behavior over and over, expecting a different result.   This is also going to involve tax payer money, because that is who pays for the medical care of soldiers, from band aids to birth control.

Is this the Obama plan to make the “militia” clause of the 2nd Amendment a reality?  Because it seems that the only people that are going to be left to defend this nation at this point are going to be those of us who have an AR-15 and some bullets set aside.

I am going to tell my son that if he wants to be a man among men, don’t become a Navy SEAL or Army Ranger; he should instead join the French Foreign Legion; where I guess is the place men who want to actually be soldiers will be headed.  I guess that those who don’t will be joining the US Military where they can figure out, through some sort of re-education I am sure; how to properly interact and address tranny troopers who they are going to be expected to be deployed with to small mountaintop fire-bases with minimal facilities for handling the day to day personal hygiene and bodily functions and “just get along” with “Danielle”, who used to be “Daniel” who isn’t quite done turning his “outtie” into an “innie.”

Because even on Bizarro World, this sounds like an epically wasteful and terrible idea.
