It’s beyond offensive. An American President actually stood in front of the UN General Assembly and said these words: “The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam.”

Of course, these are the words from the mouth of a man who’s political party booed God and Jerusalem at their recent Democratic Convention. Here’s the specific quote from Obama’s UN speech:

“The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam. Yet to be credible, those who condemn that slander must also condemn the hate we see when the image of Jesus Christ is desecrated, churches are destroyed, or the Holocaust is denied. Let us condemn incitement against Sufi Muslims, and Shiite pilgrims. It is time to heed the words of Gandhi: “Intolerance is itself a form of violence and an obstacle to the growth of a true democratic spirit.” Together, we must work towards a world where we are strengthened by our differences, and not defined by them. That is what America embodies, and that is the vision we will support.”

Yeah, Obama. Throw in that part about Jesus for credibility’s sake. That’s rich. It’s also really hard for me to see a correlation between slandering the prophet of Islam say, by drawing a cartoon of him, while Coptic Christians are being crucified as infidels by Muslim extremists.

Instead of speaking squarely, and with authority, on the recent terrorist events, most of our appeasement-prone president’s speech dwelt with that video — the one no one saw — as the cause of the uprising across the Middle East. It’s unreal! I expected to see that ridiculous “Co-exist” poster as a backdrop at any moment. Obama’s dangerous policies of appeasement have reached epic levels. We can’t have our free speech recklessly thrown around by a President who undermines our freedom.
