A few days back, Peter Savodnik of The Free Press wrote a piece spotlighting Second Lady, Usha Vance.
Now, we don’t hear too much about Usha Vance, though we should. Jack Schlossberg has delusional fantasies about her. Greenland’s Prime Minister is afraid of her. And, Kennedy Center attendees boo her:

Instead of being celebrated as the first American woman of Indian descent to be a Second Lady of The United States, old, white Democrats who support The Kennedy Center and spend their Saturday afternoons on city streets dancing with swastika signs, boo her. Fashion magazines and publications shun her. Usha Vance does not get the credit for being the wildly intelligent, enigmatic woman that she is. A Yale grad. A wife, a mother. Accomplished. Poised.
She was, as her close friends from Yale Law put it, ‘poised beyond belief,’ ‘ridiculously intelligent,’ “a perfect human.” (I spoke with several of Usha’s and J.D.’s Yale Law friends. They were effusive about both of them, but almost none felt free to speak openly because they work at the Department of Justice or law firms with a strict, no-talking-to-the-press policy.)
‘Everyone’s always projecting stuff on Usha when they have no clue,’ a former professor said. “She’s one of the hardest people to understand because she combines qualities that you don’t usually find in one person. She’s incredibly strong—she can be formidable—especially when it comes to protecting her family. But she’s also one of the kindest, most empathetic, most softhearted people I know.”-Peter Savodnik, The Free Press
But, but…
Michelle Obama was a graduate of Princeton and Harvard Law and was the first African American First Lady.

Michelle O. The epitome of class. Fans of Michelle Obama are loving her natural hair kick. (Too bad she didn’t opt for it in The White House.) In fact, Harper’s Bazaar did a whole piece on Michelle’s hair in 2022:
Since leaving the White House, Obama has been having fun expressing her personal style through both fashion and beauty, and has recently been spotted wearing a braided high ponytail, curly up-dos and long box braids. With the passing of the Crown Act (which prohibits hair discrimination) in the US and the new wave of Black hair innovators and creatives getting their due recognition, there’s never been a better time to celebrate and embrace the beauty of Black hair.”-Medina Azaldin, Harper’s Bazaar
Ahhh, yes. The Crown Act. Former FLOTUS must have been feeling the oppression of her African-American people when she was in The White House, where she stuck to straight, “white girl” styles. Now, she is free to express herself.
Her podcast? Not so much.
Compare the two photos above. Usha looks stunning in classic black and white. Sophisticated and refined. It’s odd that the photographer wanted her to don more color. Usha stuck with the white blouse and did not cower to the request of the photographer. No fugly iridescent blazer or “Dr.” Jill loud floral for her. Her photo for The Free Press IS worthy of a Vogue cover. But Vogue is not breaking down her door begging for her to do a cover and a story. If they mention Usha in any way, they will probably come up with some ridiculous remark about how she chose a WHITE blouse.
GASP! She wore a cobalt-blue Badgley Mischka dress and nearly no jewelry or makeup! (Yes, this is a veiled insult from the vapid fashion world.) It was off the rack, said Women’s Wear Daily. It was not couture. The elitist snobs cannot even get over themselves for a solid minute. She did not call upon them for her look. She took it upon herself to purchase something (scoff) off the rack.
In the interview with The Free Press, Usha asked what it was like to be in the “sea of MAGA”, the blondes and the Botox.” She responded:
I’m laughing, because it would be really hard for me to be blonde…that color would look totally absurd.”-Usha Vance
Still, haters be hating…
You ditched law for his campaign, yet you’re stuck waving through the hate. Power couple? More like the duo we love to hate. Keep smiling, though—those jeers aren’t going anywhere.

According to this, Usha Vance ditched law for a bit of normalcy for her children. We would not expect an abortion-loving Democrat to understand this concept, though, so we give them grace. But if we want to discuss “power couples”, let’s contrast this to the “power couple” second family that was at the Naval Observatory residence before. A drunk who could not world-salad her way into the highest office in the land and her nanny-impregnating, girlfriend-abusing Second “Gentleman”.
As far as Usha Vance is concerned, this woman does not need the manufactured bolstering of Vogue, Women’s Wear Daily or Harper’s Bazaar. She does not need nor want a loud, ugly frock to draw attention to her. Her intellect, grace and personality speak for themselves and the left does not know what to do with this.
