While Democrat theater kids’ antics at ICE detention centers and Israel/Gaza have dominated media, the Trump administration has been aggressively cleaning out illegals in commercial trucking. With YUGE results.

There have been several high-profile, deadly crashes in recent months involving semi-trucks being driven by foreign nationals and/or operated by shady operators whose ownership is a layer of shell companies. The recent video of an illegal alien from India causing a fatal wreck when performing an illegal U-turn has received a great deal of attention. The Trump administration is cracking down, especially as it applies to aliens who are not licensed to operate these vehicles. The crackdown is revealing that a great many of these drivers are in the country illegally.

The ten-or-more million illegals Creepy Joe’s cabal let into this country over the last four years aren’t just creating issues with crime and access to taxpayer benefits, but with being used as cheap labor undercutting not just the wages of Americans but in putting the American public’s safety at risk.

An illegal immigrant carrying a New York state commercial driver’s license with “NO NAME GIVEN” listed as his name was arrested by ICE in Oklahoma, according to DHS.

The agency said that it has been working in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Transportation as well as state and local law enforcement to get illegal truck drivers off American highways following the high-profile accident involving Indian illegal Harjinder Singh.

Working with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, ICE arrested another Indian illegal alien named Anmol Anmol. DHS said that Anmol was carrying a New York commercial driver’s license on which his first name was listed as “NO NAME GIVEN.”

What is happening is that ICE is showing up at truck stops and shipping businesses to check on the legality of truckers’ commercial drivers licenses. They are catching the lackadaisical (and sometimes criminal) ways businesses and even state DMV offices are operating. This is also rebounding on trucking companies themselves as insurance companies are stepping up and refusing to insure foreign drivers. Word is out.

Trucking and logistics companies should be taking immediate steps to mitigate increased exposure to drivers with non-domiciled commercial driver’s licenses – including an audit of all existing employee or contract drivers, a regulations expert advises.

That advice, included in a legal alert by Greg Reed, a partner at Hanson Bridgett LLP, comes in the wake of an emergency rule issued in September by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration overhauling who is eligible for a non-domiciled CDL.

“Both the regulatory language in FMCSA’s interim final rule, as well as Secretary Duffy’s remarks at the press conference announcing it, cast doubt on the legitimacy of all non-domiciled CDLs,” Reed told FreightWaves in an interview.

When regulations aren’t enforced, it as if they don’t exist. Certainly the “English competency” standard has been around for decades, but so rarely enforced it allows for incidents like the fatal accident in Florida. In addition, there are trucking companies who do the something similar to the abuse of the H1B visas …

The heightened restrictions now governing eligibility for a non-domiciled CDL prompted FMCSA to estimate that 194,000 of approximately 200,000 drivers holding those licenses will exit the market over two years as their CDLs become ineligible, representing roughly 5% of 3.9 million commercial drivers.
