the warrior legacy foundation

the warrior legacy foundation

since the birth of our dear country — whether we be at war or living in peace — every generation has been asked to protect our liberty and defend our freedom.

regardless of the tough terrain, toxic political climate, or even political persuation, our dear military warriors have met challenges and made sacrifices to defeat our enemies abroad and protect our way of life here at home.

they’ve never ask for anything and have given us everything.

lately, we’ve seen some disturbing trends regarding the treatment our amazing vets receive. we have talked about it here and here. it really pisses me off. it’s not right to do this to people who have protected all of us so that we can be here, to do this, right now.

so, matt of blackfive and a few of his friends like david bellavia have gotten together to start a new non-partisan foundation called The Warrior Legacy Foundation to work with both sides of the congressional aisle to help solve some of these veterans issues. i’m thinking if anyone can win ‘hearts and minds’, these guys can.

the WLF is committed to the protection and promotion of the reputation and dignity of our military veterans so that their legacy of being democracy’s defenders is protected not trashed, demeaned, or even mis-represented.

are you interested yet? well, here’s the WLF must see video of the week. watch it, because you’ll love it.

you can become a member of the warrior legacy foundation as well as donate to their good cause just like i did by going here. it’s an easy process and will mean a lot.

“I will never forget that I am an American, fighting for freedom, responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles which made my country free.”

from the military code of conduct and said by every military member since 1955.

I agree. Veterans are often shit upon by people for political convenience.

Look how the Republicans treated decorated war veterans John Kerry and Max Cleland. Look how Dick Cheney even now slurs Colin Powell. Remember the atrocious conditions that existed at Walter Reed Medical Facility when Junior Bush was president.

    Shameful!

  • Jared says:

    One more Vet’s group, YAWN.

What makes this one so special? I went on their site and the only thing I saw was it seems more Iraq/Afghan specific.

  • Jeremy says:

Jared did you see if they have a section dedicated to the Gitmo inmates or Abu Graib? I bet not. This will be another “We are heroes” group that won’t ever address the things that are done in this country’s name that are wrong.

  • Micky says:

Yea, God forbid you guys mention the latest assault on our vets and troops from the left ?

More power to these guys as they do their best to discredit exactly what Jareed, Jeremy and Dade represent.
The hypocrital left that expediently claims to support the troops while pi$$ing on everything they do.

“Remember the atrocious conditions that existed at Walter Reed Medical Facility when Junior Bush was president.”

And so you guys came in behind of whats already been fixed and tried to make them pay for their own injuries.
    Bravo.

  • Micky says:

“Look how the Republicans treated decorated war veterans John Kerry ”

Oh, you mean the John Kerry that called em all stupid ?

  • BikerDan says:

That is an awesome website and looks like a fantastic organization! I joined and threw them a couple of bucks. I noticed Kate that they had a blog set up and that the had the country divided up in regions. I also noticed they had some of my favorite bloggers involved like TSO and Blackfive. Thanks for the heads up.

Jeremy come here and let me waterboard you even though you’ll piss your pants and cry like a girl.

  • PenniePan says:

Why do we need another Veterans group? Do we not have plenty already?

I doubt very seriously if this is actually bipartisan. I am completely with Dade in that no one was outraged over the treatment of John Kerry by the swiftboat people. No one was outraged over the ongoing slurs of Colin Powell. Sorry. You won’t get me to join just another faux arm of the Republicans.

Dan you must be having a flareup of PTSD. Go take your meds.

  • Micky says:

    Pennie.
What does anyone care if we have a million vet groups ? Should our service men and women not create all the support they can for one another ?

John Kerry lied about his service in Nam so he could go home early, took honors and medals he didnt deserve, denegrated our troops by saying they werent all that smart for ending up where they were at and equated their actions to that of Genghis Kahn raiding and murdering innocents.
All he deserves is a swift kick in the a$$ so hard that it stops at his shoulders.

Powell is nothing but a pi$$ed off tool.

  • Ken says:

Priceless!!! Dade comes on and tries to create the illusion that Republicans are the ones who treat veterans like dirt……..and is followed up by Jeremy, Jared and, of course, Pennie who trash them.

You couldn’t script the true feelings of the left towards our military any better!!!

    Thanks for proving that point!!!

  • Ted says:

Another reason never to believe libs when they claim “it’s not a partisan thing.” Were that the case, they would have mentioned John Murtha and his claim that Marines (who were found to have not done what he claimed) killed 24 Iraqis in cold blood. But did they? Nope. Only mentioned Republicans. When someone does that, it’s a sure sign they’re an intellectual cripple.

  • kate says:

i should clarify that you can join the group at no cost. you can choose to donate if you want.

  • Max says:

(note to self: do not support veterans, Democrats really hate that and will send trolls after you.) (note: democrats are trolls, so what’s the difference?) (note: continue to support veterans; just look under the car before hitting the ignition)

  • lisab says:

“you couldn’t script the true feelings of the left towards our military any better!!!

    half my family are/were marines

  • This will be another “We are heroes” group that won’t ever address the things that are done in this country’s name that are wrong.

Why is is that those of you on the left are incapable of treating our warriors with respect. I know they don’t make your legs tingle but sweet jebus – they volunteer to put their lives on the line for people they don’t know, in countries all over the world. Our military is there first – every time. The first to go into war zones to deliver aid, the first to respond to threats against the innocent all over the world. The first to provide first aid, clothes, food, clean water to anyplace in the world that is devastated by natural disasters. It’s not just about Iraq or Afghanistan. We have troops in harm’s way all over the globe.

You people can’t respect someone you don’t like for the office they hold. You can’t respect our military because you disagree with what they are doing.

It’s all about you you you, isn’t it.

    Makes me sick.
