The People’s CDC

There is a new-ish group in town. It’s called The People’s CDC. This new group has a filmmaker, social psychiatrists, and PhD’s in its midst. It sprung up as a result of an email sent to a list of progressive public-health practitioners. The sender of that email was Mindy Thompson Fullilove.

Fullilove was not happy with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) loosening of COVID guidelines back when Omicron strain was rearing its head.

What emerged was the People’s C.D.C.: a ragtag coalition of academics, doctors, activists, and artists who believe that the government has left them to fend for themselves against covid-19. As governments, schools, and businesses have scaled back their covid precautions, the members of the People’s C.D.C. have made it their mission to distribute information about the pandemic—what they see as real information, as opposed to what’s circulated by the actual C.D.C. They believe the C.D.C.’s data and guidelines have been distorted by powerful forces with vested interests in keeping people at work and keeping anxieties about the pandemic down. – The New Yorker.

But wait, the powerful forces with vested interests are also white supremacists according to one Dr. Lucky Tran, a scientist, communicator, and organizer who works on science advocacy, public health, and climate justice, according to his landing page.

In the above mentioned story from the New Yorker titled The Case for Wearing Masks Forever, it states that Lucky Tran is the organizer of The People’s CDC media team.

He tweets out stuff like this,

This group is getting funding from organizations and apparently someone at the original CDC is cheering them on as well:

When asked if any current CDC staff were involved with “The People’s CDC,” the group’s apparent founder, or at least co-founder, would not confirm or deny it. But, according to the New Yorker’s profile, at least someone at the CDC is providing moral support to the group.

We have comrades that are within the C.D.C. who are saying to us, ‘Go ahead with your bad selves,’” Edgar Rivera Colón, who frequently serves as an online meeting facilitator for the group. – ABC 15 News

The funding is coming from Kresge Foundation and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF).

Misinformation?

So, there is this new fringe group proclaiming to be The People’s CDC and they are all over the internet and social media channels with their “science” and no one is throwing a misinformation or warning label on their output material?

Oh, and let us not forget, that if you are against the mask mandates then you are also a white supremacist.

It looks like some people are listening to this nonsense as schools seriously consider bringing back masks mandates.

Our nation is lost. But I know the good readers of The Victory Girls Blog know better when it comes to this kind of idiocy related to all things COVID.

Apparently we are always going to have some sort of mask frenzy happening. We proved that early on.

The United States is going on its third year of COVID hysteria. And somewhere in between the videos of dancing nurses and the anti-mask white supremacists, we need to find our good judgment again.

” We have comrades”.. that says all you need to know

We’re never going to get out of this mess. I have a friend that doesn’t trust the government over the vaccines but she masks every time she’s out. The lack of any kind of real information is so out of whack nobody knows who to trust.
