The Kennedy Center And Donald Trump: Liberal Brains Explode

The question is: Who let them in? President Donald Trump and his new Board of Trustees met at The Kennedy Center for The Performing Arts in Foggy Bottom to discuss next steps for the building and its events. Trump also mused that he himself might host the vaunted, but unwatchable, Kennedy Centers Honors. Along the way, Trump insulted an NBC Reporter and dropped the bomb that the Kennedy Assassination Files will drop this afternoon. The carpets will have to be shampooed after all the Liberal brains running out of their ears. However, did those Trump cretins get in?

The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts is supposed to be a living memorial to John F. Kennedy. In public, Kennedy comported himself well and people attending an event at the Center booed Vice President J.D. and Second Lady Usha Vance when they attended, so that doesn’t seem like much of a memorial. Speaking of cretins.

Last night, the Washington Post published: “At Kennedy Center, Trump envisions remaking Honors, suggests he could host”:

President Donald Trump visited the Kennedy Center on Monday, where he presided over a meeting of its refashioned board of trustees and discussed changes to the institution’s annual Honors, including possibly hosting the ceremony himself.

“I’ve been so busy, I haven’t been able to be here for a long time,” Trump, who is the board’s chairman, said at the beginning of the board meeting. “And I shouldn’t be, with what I’m doing.”

The Washington Post obtained audio of the meeting, in which the board voted to expand the committee that chooses Kennedy Center honorees. Trump and committee members floated names such as Paul Anka, Sylvester Stallone, Johnny Mathis and Andrea Bocelli for the award.

Okay, so who gave the Washington Post the audio? Was it a new Trustee, an old Trustee or a cater waiter? If Trump hosted, at least eyeballs would be on screens. I checked the last few years “Honorees” and I can’t remember the last time I watch the presentation. Since Trump got a big youth vote this time, maybe he could get the “under 80 demographic”.

More:

During the board meeting, Trump railed against previous Kennedy Center Honors, saying, “In the past, I mean, these are radical left lunatics that have been chosen. I didn’t like it. I couldn’t watch it. And the host was always terrible.”

It is unclear how many members will be added to the committee. Their identities are also unknown. “We’re expanding the committee so that the search for the Kennedy Center Honors is more inclusive,” said one board member, who could not be identified by voice alone.

He speaks to Laura Ingraham in this video and speaks on making The Kennedy Center great again:

Here is more from the WaPo:

The Kennedy Center Honors, which began in 1978, is the center’s premiere event. The awards are given to artists who made “an impact on the rich tapestry of American life and culture through the performing arts,” according to center.

It has always been a bipartisan event. During the show, held in December, the honorees watch as their peers pay homage to their careers from the stage of the 2,364-seat Opera House on the Potomac River. The president typically sits next to them.

Trump, however, broke tradition by not attending the event during his first term. During the first year of Trump’s presidency, Norman Lear, a 2017 honoree, announced he would boycott the White House reception ahead of the ceremony.

Well, it wasn’t really a bipartisan event. Republican Administration officials just put up with the rudeness and snark. A little like Vice President and Mrs. Vance rose above it.

“Hate has no home here.” The tolerant Left. From the Washington Examiner:

Richard Grenell, special missions envoy and now interim president of the Kennedy Center, reportedly emailed the center’s staff after taking over and said he takes “diversity and inclusion very seriously.”

“I have met with many of you, and I love that we are Christian, Muslim, Jewish, agnostic, gay, straight, black, white, Hispanic and absolutely different,” Grenell allegedly said.

On social media, Grenell has pushed for tolerance by chastising the mostly white audience that makes up the Kennedy Center’s supporter base. He took particular umbrage at the Vances being booed.

“It troubles me to see that so many in the audience appear to be white and intolerant of diverse political views. Diversity is our strength,” he said. “We must do better. We must welcome EVERYONE.”

Do they have to tolerate the barbarian MAGA-types? Will they come back after Trump pour even more money into it? Again from the Examiner:

“We’re going to spend a lot of effort, a lot of money on (fighting) crime, and we’re going to spend it on fixing it up,” Trump said as the board meeting began. “We don’t want graffiti on the beautiful, white statuary marble.”

He spoke about preventing crime and homelessness around the venue and about overhauling its schedule to include more crowd-pleasing Broadway hits such as Les Misérables.

“I’ve been hearing reports, and I thought it was very important to make this good. It’s a very big part of the fabric of Washington D.C.,” Trump said. “We’re going to make our capital great again just like we’re going to make our country great again.”

We have got to watch every penny. During the early season of the Covid Scamdemic, the Kennedy Center got $25 million and canned all of the musicians, our Nina told you about that in 2020:

“The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts informed members of the National Symphony Orchestra that they would no longer be paid just hours after President Trump signed a $25 million taxpayer bailout for the cultural center, according to an email obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

Nearly 100 musicians will no longer receive paychecks after April 3, according to an email from the orchestra’s Covid-19 Advisory Committee.

“The Covid-19 Advisory Committee was broadsided today during our conversation with [Kennedy Center President] Deborah Rutter,” the email says. “Ms. Rutter abruptly informed us today that the last paycheck for all musicians and librarians will be April 3 and that we will not be paid again until the Center reopens.”

Good luck with all of this to Rich Grenell, he’s a good guy, but Foggy Bottom has sharks.

On his way out, Trump dropped that the Kennedy Assassination Files will be out tomorrow:

What do you want to bet that we still won’t know anything?
