Opening night of the 2024 Republican National Convention might also be called the Black (K)night with three Black men in a row. My inner indoctrinated self sat up self-consciously when first North Carolina Lieutenant Governor Mark Robison, then Congressman Wesley Hunt (R-TX) and then Congressman John James spoke. There were two White Women and then Senator Tim Scott. Then my indoctrinated self went back to sleep and I processed the messages the speakers shared. Yea, go Republicans.
I heard Mark Robinson speak at CPAC 2022 and actually preferred him to Governor DeSantis. The ninth of ten children of an alcoholic father who beat his mother, Robinson lost his first two manufacturing jobs thanks to the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), which Biden voted for. Shipping jobs overseas is a Democrat hallmark. Robinson and his wife kept putting one foot in front of the other and now Mark Robison is running to become the first Black Governor of North Carolina. Please elect this good man.
Under Joe Biden, grocery prices have skyrocketed, and gas has nearly doubled. In North Carolina, factories like the ones I worked at, are closing, leaving families feeling hopeless.
But there IS hope, and I’m proof.

The live band at the RNC came on so I switched over to X (Twitter) to check the RNC Monday schedule and I saw this:
We now have "the Blacks" portion of #RepublicanConvention : Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson, Rep. Wesley Hunt, Rep. John James, & Sen. Tim Scott. https://t.co/eOJ1UIPtO7

Faith, girl, baby girl. You should have paid attention. You ever been to a West Point Football Game? The Black Knights?
I knew that Wesley Hunt graduated from West Point. I knew that John James graduated from West Point. I had no idea they were 2004 classmates. James and Hunt are the first two Black West Point graduates to enter Congress. So all y’all can call this next portion The Black (K)night Show.
The son of an Army retired Lt. Colonel, Hunt and his two brothers graduated from West Point:
This generation, maybe Wesley’s two daughters and one son can attend West Point.
Is this a great country and do the Republicans have an incredibly deep bench? Hale yeah, Oh did I mention that Hunt and James were both combat helicopter pilots? Why have one Black (K)night when you can have two? Bada$$ in any color. It’s people like Faith who see White people as supremacists and Black people as their victims.
Please don’t let me leave out Wesley’s classmate, John James. Reminding Americans that the Democrats do more for illegal immigrants than Black folk in 400 years:
WELL SAID, JOHN JAMES!!! pic.twitter.com/UfaC3FeDBo

Hope is not a plan is the truth. The Democrats have been selling hope since the 1860’s. They have nothing else.
Senator Tim Scott was up next. President Trump has often said that Scott is a better spokesman for Trump than he is for Scott. Too true:
Tim Scott on Fire.

Tim Scott was en fuego….Roarrrrr!
Byron Donalds is Florida A&M, not West Point (sad face) but he is a real talent in the Republican Party. He’s right. We knew that the American Rescue Plan would cause inflation. Wildly printing money always does.
All Americans deserve a shot at the American Dream. But it’s slipping away due to Joe Biden’s debilitating policies.@ByronDonalds#RNC2024 pic.twitter.com/bcw7pvcE6p

Accruing piles of debt will drown a person, a company and a nation. We have all three. Donalds is right. Joe Biden is destroying the American Dream.
For folks like Faith, you can see the Republican Party as racist with the Black (K)night. I will take our Black Knights over an entire week of Democrat Soy Boys and hairy armpit chicks.
I am chuffed at how freaking deep our bench is.

I’m not as convinced as you that our bench is deep. Though I like those men, I haven’t seen enough from them on principles. (Yes, that is probably my fault.) Rhetoric about fighting and how great Trump is, is wonderful, but I’d like to hear an enthusiastic laying out of the Republican platform based on principles and strategy that I can get behind as a radical Constitutionalist. I’ve heard some of that – but I’d sure like to hear more.
IMO that would be a deep bench: a bunch of enthusiastic folks who can articulate the principles of the Constitution and why they are the best answer. I want to see them do that.
