The gravy train has come to a screeching halt. the $50 billion USAID slush fund has been shut down. As I wrote the other day, just a bare minimum of scrutiny uncovered millions of dollars flowing to people and organizations that any rational American taxpayer would’ve said a hearty NO to.
The USAID organization along with Democrats were so aghast at having their books audited, that they tried to block people from getting in.
USAID officials even tried to physically stop DOGE technicians from accessing the computers that contained information on payments, leading Musk to comment, “USAID is a criminal organization. Time for it to die.”
Meanwhile Trump suspended payments to NGOs and nonprofits until a formal re-evaluation of the nature, purposes and legality of the spending is complete at each grant-making agency.
It’s a safe bet that once they’re re-evaluated, far fewer grants will be made.
That means an awful lot of NGO staffers and executives in Washington, DC, and vicinity will soon be out of a job — and if Trump slashes the federal bureaucracy, too, many more will be thrown into the DC employment marketplace in a year’s time.
Those doing the audits, such as the Whiz Kid Toni wrote about, are getting doxxed by the media and on Reddit, while Democrats shriek that no one elected the auditors! Well, no one elected those who work at USAID either!
The tantrums over USAID are illuminating. Why? Because they don’t want us to know where the $50 billion slush fund has been going. They don’t want us to know the identity of the recipient of $1.2 billion in funding. They don’t want us to know that our tax dollars have been funding interior design, equity in design, diversity at MIT, worker challenge and family life and much more to multiple countries around the world. In fact, until a full audit is done, we don’t know who some of those recipients are because their names have been redacted. Sends up red flags doesn’t it?
Oh, but there’s more. Via this report we find:
The third page is dedicated to highlighting where committee Republicans tracked foreign aid as going toward, including “$39,652 to host seminars at the Edinburgh International Book Festival on gender identity and racial equality through the State Department” and “$425,622 to help Indonesian coffee companies become more climate and gender friendly through USAID.”
Other priorities listed included “$14 million in cash vouchers for migrants at the southern border through the State Department,” “$446,700 to promote the expansion of atheism in Nepal through the State Department” and “$32,000 for an LGBTQ-centered comic book in Peru.”
There is absolutely ZERO reason for our tax dollars going to crap like this. Oh, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. We sent $2.5 million to fund electric vehicles in Vietnam. Guess how that turned out? Yep, zero return on investment.
Please explain to me why Politico, Reuters and the New York Times needed money from that gravy train? I mean, half a million dollars for 37 subscriptions is quite the scheme!
We’ve ALSO been funding terrorists by sending money to Gaza, Hamas, and Al-Qaida.
Mahmoud Al Hafyan, 53, a Syrian national, has been charged in a 12-count indictment, unsealed today in U.S. District Court, alleging major fraud against the United States for illegally diverting more than $9 million in U.S.-funded humanitarian aid intended for Syrian civilians to armed combatant groups, including the Al-Nusrah Front (ANF), which is a designated foreign terrorist organization affiliated with al-Qaida in Iraq.
Yet those working at USAID and the Democrats don’t want the books audited. Gee, I wonder why? Especially in light of the fact that the Palestinians were given at least SEVEN funding awards AFTER the October 7 attacks.
Senator Joni Ernst has been trying for months to get answers from USAID and they’ve stonewalled her at every turn.
USAID spends money like it’s going out of fashion, literally.

Trade assistance to Ukraine paid for models and designers to take trips to New York City, London Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week, and South by Southwest in Austin.
President Trump knew and had had enough. Hence DOGE was deputized to audit the organization. Which led to their rank insubordination.
🚨RUBIO: USAID rife with “rank insubordination” — “we had no choice but to take dramatic steps to bring this thing under control."

This is what everyone working at USAID got wrong. Every single person there and all previous employees (HELLO LIZ CHENEY!) is answerable to every single American citizen. You answer to US. You don’t get to hide the money. You don’t get to tell us we aren’t allowed to scrutinize and audit the books. You are OUR employees, not the other way around.
Well, guess what happened yesterday? Protests and tantrums from Democrats who want to protect their $50 billion slush fund at all costs.
And yes, most of it was comically and entertainingly stupid.
Chuck Schumer is now screaming off the top of his lungs, "We will win! We will win! We won't rest! We won't rest!"

Which led to this announcement.
On Friday, February 7, 2025, at 11:59 pm (EST) all USAID direct hire personnel will be placed on administrative leave globally, with the exception of designated personnel responsible for mission-critical functions, core leadership and specially designated programs. Essential personnel expected to continue working will be informed by Agency leadership by Thursday, February 6, at 3:00pm (EST).
For USAID personnel currently posted outside the United States, the Agency, in coordination with missions and the Department of State, is currently preparing a plan, in accordance with all applicable requirements and laws, under which the Agency would arrange and pay for return travel to the United States within 30 days and provide for the termination of PSC and ISC contracts that are not determined to be essential. The Agency will consider case-by-case exceptions and return travel extensions based on personal or family hardship, mobility or safety concerns, or other reasons. For example, the Agency will consider exceptions based on the timing of dependents’ school term, personal or familial medical needs, pregnancy, and other reasons. Further guidance on how to request an exception will be forthcoming.
Thank you for your service.
And with that, the gravy train came to a screeching halt. Exit Question:
